I was 100% planning to make a fence for it. And I was going to make the fence using the saw itself. This was before I actually tried cutting something with it. If it had more power, I'd love to kit it out with sleds, a fence, etc.

Top Gear already did a V8 Blender - they mixed a beef and brick smoothie with it. They also made a V8 rocking chair - https://youtu.be/vDlMLqdvHzI
Incoming lockdown madness where Robert decides to make a custom backing fence, dust collection adapter, motor upgrade, adjustable blade angle for the Mighty Mite, Why?, because it would look hilarious lined up on the table with the other normal saws.
>Princess Auto You mean 'Hoser Freight'?
It's probably intended for model making, eg chopping up balsa wood and plastic. It seems like it is in a similar vein to the mini mitre saw that Adam Savage improved on his channel.

Even after watching I found myself still trying to come up with plausible uses for that POS saw... Thank goodness we donβt have Harbour Freight here in Kanuckistan (Canada) but, we do have our version, Princess Auto! At least they call their line of tools by a proper name, Power Fist!!!

Well, he is American and that does seem to be the preferred option for YouTubers.
LS swap?

I thought about sticking a dust hose on it. A big dust hose so it encapsulates the whole saw

5:30 was the time it took not including all the breaks and camera changes I made. I think I have almost ten minutes of footage from cutting a single tile. I think I gave up twice.

This thing would probably be just fine for cutting acrylic for my little CNC machine. Motor would maybe be powerful enough.

That thing requires a motor swap.

I am surprised you didn't mod it first so you could hook it up to the extractor setup you have....now there is (a little) dust everywhere! :p
unedited 5:30 minutes video of cutting the tile for patreons? :D

If this were stronger and had a better (or any fence) this would have been great for field work ripping fence boards at my last job.

I was really hoping you would smoke that motor by the end of the video. I'm shocked the mahogany did not kill it.

I love it, I bought the teeny tiny chop saw from them a while ago and it too is absolutely worthless. But it's adorable! It can cut half inch wooden dowels okay but anything more than that is right out.
You could, I guess, use it for cutting PCBs.
