Really glad you're enjoying making the dailies, I'm certainly enjoying watching them!
I thinking you are focus on the mic issue in a different way. Try to shut down the lights in your shop to see if it makes any difference. Those LED drivers can be really nasty and the microphone might amplify the buzz.
About the microphone/sound problems. Electroboom has made a video about that: https://youtu.be/m7CtnR47w20 Perhaps you are haveing the same problem with an automatic gain control for the sound amplification.
