Looks like they are called lightboards. I'd never seen them used before looking into them now. People obviously came to the same conclusions as I did.

Another idea for your presentation station: use a blackboard and regular chalk! Blackboards are usually not all shiny.

How about this for your presentation station. Lose the whiteboard, fit an 8x4 piece of chipboard and paint it black. Get a large piece of perspex or acrylic, make a frame and have that in front of you (between you and the camera) Side light the clear plastic sheet with UV light and use UV reflective chalk pens. Write on the plastic (which will glow brightly) and flip the video footage horizontally so the writing is the correct way around to the viewer. You can then use standard lighting on yourself against the black background.

For the whiteboard replacement, you can use butcher paper and a clamp on the other side. Tear it off as you go along.
