Making a Much Easier Way to Break Down Plywood

And an idea that I was so proud of, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to try out making a set of plans. I'm posting the video for you all now. It'll go public once I finish, finalize, and post the plans up for sale. It'll be a couple of days until that happens.
The process behind making this video was quite a bit different than my normal. Normally, I would make or do something, and just explain my way through it as I go. That's basically what I did this time too, but there was a lot more preparation work to do. I first made a clamping prototype, then a first draft track, then the video. All the while I was trying to make the track thing as simple and repeatable as possible. I found it interesting how changing my mindset from entertainment to how-to changed the entire way I approached the project. It was all, and still will be, a fun little learning experience. If someone finds this idea useful, that's an added bonus!

Yep...but it would really set the North American/US home shop/small shop metal machining industry in a real bind. Just think of all the gears and lead screws that would have to be changed...never mind all the tooling and measuring devices....Whew!
Really nice. Now the only thing you have to do is to start using the metric system. π
I would think that with the sandpaper on the underside, just positioning this across two marks for your angle should be enough without the need for stop blocks.

I should've mentioned this in the video. Clamping the track down before cutting is certainly an option. The sandpaper worked well enough for me, but you're right it might not work on smoother surfaces. Simple spring clamps on the track or rails would do the trick

Looks great, man! Very cool idea! I suppose you could even cut angles by setting your stop blocks at different places right?

Great build video, the magical measuring rails would be a great addition to my existing track. I wish I could buy that foam board in the UK cheaply enough to use it as a cutting base.

The ability to use the stop blocks as hold in both directions would be a great bonus, though I don't know for certain how much the sandpaper does in this regard, i expect that there are some situations where it is not ideal (pre-finished material or acrylic come to mind). Having an included optional way to clamp the blocks to the edge would be nice.
