Did you consider a meet & greet in D.C.?

Diffusers! Diffusers will soften the light to make it more non-directional, while still lighting everything... That would help with the glare on the Whiteboard, and help fill in shadows of your face. You can then use a couple of box diffusers to give a 'flood' fill, then use a another more directional light to maintain contrast and depth perception.

Bob Ross used a very shiny plastic palette, but he made it matte so it wouldn't reflect the studio lights by giving it a good brushing with steel wool or something similarly scratchy. Maybe the same approach would work with your white board?

Or maybe a green blackboard (wow that seems ambiguous) so it doesn't cause as many issues with white balance?

Why not use a fake beard for the "aging aging wheeler" effect! Or maybe make a bearded "you" appear from the future and warn you not to make a mistake you're made? :D Not to say the bus is a mistake, it sounds amazing, but for comical effect. Also: why not try to bounce the light(s) through photography reflectors for softer lightning?

Why not replace it with a blackboard?
