remember when a week ago i said i'm really anxious about the current scene i'm working on? in the end, i decided to rewrite and shorten, make everything much simpler, cut out unnecessary sentences, and i changed the POV and the voice it was written in! it was a little frustrating to rewrite everything once again. i was falling down the hole like "noooo. god not again", but i had such a bad feeling that it would not have the impact that it needs to have!
after talking it through with 2 other creators (thank you ; _; π) in long talks and the current rewriting, i think it will finally work! unfortunately i had to scratch the 14 pages i already had sketched out before, but that's okay. i still can use some of the panels, even though not all. anyways, i just wanted to tell you that this is sometimes how things go and what happens behind the scenes of a webcomic or any other ongoing series. like, you work really hard on something and you put everything into it... but then it doesn't work. it's easier said than done, the whole "start over again, and try to do it differently". like, i already put so much work in it! scratch it... again? but it's better to rework this single scene until it works, instead to butcher or even drop the whole story ;;
that's why i'm so glad to have you all. your last comments about this issue were such a big help. knowing that you're here to support me because you love this story and always cheer me on, it gives me a feeling of security even if i take longer. you have faith in me and you are so patient and cute and you leave me genuine cheer up comments, i love you so much!! i want to give my best for you too ππ i'm thankful to have you, and i really do have a better feeling about the scene now! i'd even say i'm excited to draw it again. i hope you will like it
i attached some random scribbles i did a while ago to help me picture the whole system i built around the creatures in Ghost Lights. please enjoy the funny looking nature spirits and places π»
