page + panel fixing π₯
🕑 Added 2018-04-23 00:11:49 +0000 UTC lookit i've started fixing pages! i won't fix a lot, but i've chosen some panels i don't like much. my partner said I CAN ONLY PICK A FEW (with a grumpy face), which is like, now that i started, very smart. i went through all pages with kan and we picked some and well....i began to fix one panel and thought "holy shi- this is a lot of work", because my style changed a bit and the proportions won't really fit together anymore, so i can't just fix minor things like i thought ;; and i'm going to be super honest here i think i will save my energy and rather use the time for drawing new scenes <3 it will save me frustration and you'll get more content. win / win ?! (please say yes)
however, i will of course still show you before and after images in some more posts! because i have to adjust some colors / paneling / mood for print and that makes luckily the most impact anyway. that's what i did today with 30 pages! it's muuuch faster and is more fun for me. example:
when i started the comic i was still a bit unsure of how to approach the whole paneling and mood setting. i wanted it to base on the prototype but from drawing the prototype to drawing the first scene of the new comic i had learned a lot new things and i couldn't quite make up my mind aghh
okay and from the start i didn't really like the panel where Noah jumps awake. i'm a bit embarrassed whenever i look at it because of his BIG HAND (whoops). and his face isn't as cute as it could be. since it's the first time you can see his face in the comic and it's the character introduction kinda i wanted to get it right (or at least a bit better) and now i fixed it a little bit,

I say yes to new things! Fixing is a slippery slope. When I write, I don't go back and re-read previous chapters unless I absolutely need to in order to confirm information. I spend so much time in the editing process for each chapter that I fear what would happen if I didπ Your art has been amazing throughout so I enjoy the before and after pictures π They're both great and they both give their own unique atmosphere.

Ha! I believe it. Used to line edit while I was on the trail. Then one day I spent the entirety chewing up a single page. Nothing changes a habit like listening to your own crazy ;).
It's incredible how even minor changes make such a huge difference!!! Also seeing you evolve is great! Just take your time for it π it will look amazing and I can't wait to get the printed version!
yeah absolutely....! the urge to fix eeeverything is so huge after such a long time. lucky for me kan saved me by saying NO to almost all panels i pointed at πππ
yep!! going back through the old files i see how difficult i made it for myself sometimes. like the files are a mess ahah sjdhff but now i simplified the process a lot in the past months, getting more done in less time! it's the small things that help a ton (and all your sweet feedback and support <3)

The fixes look lovely! You can tell the time and effort that you've put into the atmosphere and building the tension via it. Looks wonderful darlin'- I really love the changes! It really is your choice whether you wish to continue changing them or not, but you can always do it before (if ever) you print them into a book? Or once you've finished, or even not at all if you want. It's your story and we're here for the long haul so take your time and do you what you think is best and we'll support you 100% of the way!
