The New Year always gets me reflecting on the past and 2019 was a big chonky year for me. I was lucky enough to spend most of it with you but at the start of the year, I was actually working on another project. Something called "Silicon King".

Long story short, before working on the Full Version of Pico Sim Date <3, I was working on this. Of course, I'm focused on finishing our current project now, but I thought it would be nice to take some time to show this little game off ;)
Silicon King is a Post-Apocalyptic Narrative-Focused Vapor-Punk Technology Business Management Game about an alternative universe Personal Computer Tech Race of the 1970s set in the infamous Silicon Valley. And yes... It's not a porn game. Weird right? :p
It was largely inspired by my love of my favorite game genre, business tycoon and the beautiful aesthetics of vapor-wave and future-funk. If anyone's ever seen the drama Halt and Catch Fire (which is amazing and underrated btw), I pretty much wanted to make a game about that, which was about innovating technology (mainly PCs).

One of the big focuses of the game would've been Innovation and Mixing Technology. Focus on Communications and Computers, you get smart-phones. Focus on Entertainment and Computers instead, and you get video-game consoles. Or maybe you focus on Communications and Optical Amplification and manufacture giant orbiting satellites that fire laser beams and change your company to be a military-facing conglomerate.
This is really the creative freedom I wanted to create for Silicon King.
Unfortunately I didn't get that far with the project before switching to PSD<3. In the video above, I compiled all the work I had. Most of it was nailing down the style I wanted and writing the game design. It'll be a while before I'll get a chance to work on it again, so I thought... why not share some of it with you... ;) <3
