This is such a touching eloquently told story. The doll maker handles his fragile dolls with great care. This doll in the transformation had met with an accident and is sad, very sore today which is not uncommon as it trips over dark things it cannot see. It has many scars that felt soothed by the those skillful hands and although the eye cannot be fixed it felt less self conscious of it's scars and felt very comforted and safe in its box. Reminded of a time buying a teddy bear because they felt sorry for it. It was tatty, had no fur, lop sided and only had one eye and cannot be restored. But it had a sweet kind face and it is loved just the way it is and it has a very soft, sentimental owner. Dilly is going to get a new dress :) Although sometimes you can only paper over the cracks and defects, but feeling soothed and cared for by the kind empathetic skill and tlc of the dollmaker is priceless. So sweet. Thank you Sir. :) ❤️
