Do I Like Amnesia Plots?

Okay…sorry for horrific dad joke. The intrusive thought won! But for real, this has never ever been my trope. But after Alchemy of Souls 2 and binging Japanese BL Jack o’ Frost (Viki, Megan recommended) last night…I might be sold.
Where do you sit on amnesia? And has anyone else seen Jack O’ Frost? I don’t know what they put in the water for Japanese BL but the characters and plots just keep being EXACTLY my thing.

Super not sold on amnesia plots. They almost always feel contrived. Case in point: Boys Over Flowers. HOWEVER, there are some plots where amnesia made sense and was necessary. Case in point: Extra-ordinary You.
