Christmas fairy
🕑 Added 2024-12-23 20:35:12 +0000 UTC Excerpt from 'A Guide to Magical Womenfolk and their Uses' (1873) Since ancient times, it has been customary to capture a fairy and bind her to the top of a fir tree during the winter equinox, to ensure a prosperous harvest the following year. In the modern era, we know that fairies are unable to influence the harvest in this way, but binding them can still be entertaining.
