We just moved to a new place. Ours was built by an owner builder just after WWII. He was a returned soldier so the measurements are all well done and everything is hammered together really well. But he pretty obviously didn’t know anything about drainage, plumbing, architecture, etc it is interesting what people learn from being a working professional in a field and not a DIY amateur
