Here is what I added as a comment and to the video description, after some thought and conversation with Twitter people: One of my patrons found what seems to be the original image of the fake "crimson worm". It seems to have been named Crimson Worm just because it sounds neat. It does seem to really be split in half. And it most closely resembles dried and broken tree sap or resin. With this higher resolution, the surface it's on looks like some type of tree bark that's flaking off in places. So the "worm" is sap or resin that's still attached to where it's leaking out of the tree (the wide top), dried, and broken, in the middle and probably at the bottom too. There's another drip in the far upper right of the photo: <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/sn1per/495970659/in/photostream/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.flickr.com/photos/sn1per/495970659/in/photostream/</a> Kind of turns the whole video into even more of a farce when you realize that while Trey is gesticulating at drama level 9000 at the Bible verse in the caption, all while Duel of the Fates plays, the picture he finds so inspirational is really just sap dripping out of a tree.

Cool! Definitely more clear that it's split in half in that image. What a strange choice to present as the Jesus worm. I'm gonna tweet this page out and add it to my video description.

The "worm" image is one of the top results when you use Bing to search for "crimson worm."
