They likely want to build a fandom that grows with them. Also they likely want to be different than most of the other groups. Someone mentioned that Hybe has other successful groups and they should follow the same formula. If you really examine it they are. TXT at debut was all colorful and pop. Which was opposite to what other groups was doing. Over time they transitioned to more edgy music. Enhypen debut with a more cinematic music video vs hard hitting dance heavy song that most kpop was doing. Lastly every label under Hybe in a way approach music and concept slightly different. Seventeen (Pledis) concept and music different from Enhypen (Belift) different from TXT BTS (Bighit) and now Boys Nextdoor (KOZ). Same for labels with girl groups.

I loved this debut, every one of their songs I have on repeat, and seeing their live performances and their roles in the composition of these songs, I really see a bright future for them. I haven't seen a concept like this since TXT's debut and I'm really enjoying it !!! btw, how can Jaehyun be so talented? omg
