For sure for sure. I worked on a commercial earlier this year where we used a Ricoh Theta for our CG previz team so I recognize the characteristics haha. Anyway, keep up the great discussions!

It also allows for digital push ins (cause 8k) which 90% of the push ins are… plus they’re small enough to be mounted on a small pole w/ decent stabilization

Late so this may get lost but I think they’re using an HDRI 360 camera (like what’s used to capture footage for VR and/or CG previz). You can get 8k footage but it’s hella fisheyed if you’re not stitching it for 3D viewing.
