Random AOT S2 E12 Question

So why was he able to do it when he threatened Reiner & Bertolt while carrying Mikasa in S2 E12? Just curious...maybe there's a time limit on how long he can use it after making contact with royal blood? Idk, I'm editing the S2 E12 episode right now and it's my favorite episode in the series so I wanted to know why this was!!!

How do we know he isn't able to use it for a short time once his powers are activated. We only saw it happen twice

Something fun I like to think about is that grisha stole the founding power then had to make it to trost where the shinganshina refugees were. We later see Dina still Wandering inside the walls outside trost. Technically there was a small chance of grisha seeing Dina as he made his way to eren to deliver the founding and attack. He could very well have used the founding that day the walls fell.

This is exactly the case, to use the power of the founder without being royal you need to touch a Titan or Titan shifter with royal blood

I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess is that he was able to use the power for a short time after coming into contact with a Titan of royal blood. We only see it happen 2 times so its not entirely a plot hole

Question: since you’re caught up, and seen armins actions throught the show, do you think Erwin would have done a better job fighting for humanity if he was alive instead of armin? Or would you still choose armin over Erwin. Erwin with the colossal titan, or armin with the colossal? It’s almost poetic how the show wrote it to be where, the most pacifist, peaceful character (armin), got the power of destruction.

The reason why eren was able to use the coordinate in season 2 because the titan that he punched is Dina fritz which is have a royal blood. You can only use the the coordinate if youre a descendant of a royal blood.

Definitely a time limit. I don't think there would be a plot hole that big. After getting in contact with someone with royal blood Eren gains the power to control the Coordinate for a time...

Most likely a time limited thing. Or for dramatic effect. Either way, the last part of AoT (only manga rn) explains more of this, so guess you'll have to wait to find out

It’s never mentioned, so i think it’s probably just a plot hole, a lot of aot’s story is intricate and well thought out, but there are a few small plot holes from earlier in the story that are unexplained

Well.. Not really. U can actually see a small scene where the weird worm thing captures zeke within Eren's transformation. Which makes his titan constantly in contact with zeke, hence why he can keep using the rumbling.

Yea will do but that would create some major plot holes cause I feel like he would've definitely had contact with her in other instances where he would've tried to use the power. I'm sure they would've tested something like that at least. And at this point, does it really matter? He got Zeke anyway lol

Just also want to say, if my theory about Mikasa of being royal blood ends up being correct (since he's holding mikasa while using the coordinate the 2nd time)..remember where you heard it first lol

The most logical explanation is that Isayama probably made it that there's a lingering connection to The Paths/Ymir after making contact, merged DNA through skin cells or something of the sort. Eren definitely knows that just making contact for a short period of time isn't enough to keep the connection with the Founder for a very long time and that's likely why he kept Zeke with him when he turned into the Hallucegenia/Centipede Titan lol

he touched the smiling titan "Diana", who has royal blood, that's why he could use the coordinate only at that moment, random fact Diana said 'it doesn't matter if I'm a titan I'll find you anywhere' maybe she followed the essence of Grisha

SPOILERS for S2 and S3. Eren doesn't have royal blood which is needed to use the power of the coordinate. Grisha's first wife/ mother to Zeke/ killer of Eren's mom who he punched in that scene where he used the coordinate had royal blood.

Cuz he touched Dina after punching her hand, he ordered the other titans in the area to eat her. Then when carrying Mikasa he ordered them to stay away. There must’ve been a time limit between touching Dina and ordering Reiner to get away. Makes the most sense to me.

Dina, Grisha's ex wife was a descendent of the royal blood. So when Eren punched back Dina's hand, they touched and triggered the power

Remember when he punched the hand of the smiley titan? The smiley titan is of Royal Blood, so when he punched her hand, he was able to use the coordinate. Not sure on the time limit of its effectiveness, but that is what triggered it.
