So, on the "all vampires are victims" idea. I want to probe you guys a little ... why vampirism more than general existence at all? None of get a chance to ask whether we want to be born do we? That sounds adolescent right, but it's no less true, just because adolescents say it during a tumultous emotional time. That's to say, right now, I'm quite happy with my life and have no reason to resent two other people who forced life on me, but I still didn't get to decide did I? And we don't tend as humans to have sympathy for each other based on that, because we all have the equal condition of not having chosen to exist, so even someone chronically depressed isn't indulged specifically on that (oh poor thing, I'm sorry your parents forced you to be born!). Lestat ASKED Louis! He got more than people get for their one mortal life, on a second chance for an immortal life. I just have a hard time with that being an excuse for some of Louis's sad sack bullshit (oh oh, it's so hard to be me! as Armand said last episode!). Louis at least got asked, which is more than Claudia got, and look at how much more plucky she is than him! I think the statement deserves deeper analysis is all, I guess.
