Collab? ;) I've been wondering if a lot of confusion has happened when viewers don't realize "cleaning" and removing the varnish are different...🤔

“BETWEEN THE CANVAS” Tales from the HEPA-Vac Oh Julian, tell me how it can be… That there’s dust and dirt and “stuff from a tree”? A stretcher can hide many things… from fur to dried out insect wings. BUT, what gives with this pine needle debris?!?!

In this particular case, where you cleaned UNDER the first varnish layer, which suggested a prior conservation effort that was just varnish on top of dirt, doesn’t that suggest that there’s another layer of varnish under that second layer of dirt?

Hello Julian. Great work and beautiful final result as always. Two quick questions: - Have you ever been asked or consider the cleaning of the back of the painting? As I saw this video and recalled the "Behind the Canvas" episode about paper conservation, I wonder if it was possible to remove those stainings and what effect would that have in the back writings - As a doctor, I always get worried with your back as you pick up and move those cinder blocks. I swear I'm not implying that you are an old guy but age comes and I hope to watch your videos for much years to come! Have you ever consider building an automated pulley-based system to lower and elevate those cinder blocks? Thanks you so very much. Cheers from Portugal!
