I do have a question about your application of washi to the facings of paintings and applications to tears in the canvas. Is the adhesive used wheat glue or is that only used in document preservation. Thanks so much, I look forward to your next video.

The techniques we have all seen used over and over but each story different. Here the client option to address/retouch the cracks to bring back the painting to the artist’s vision.

have you ever gotten a painting back in to the studio that your father conserved, and when you got it back you thought "Dad, what the heck?" or "well That's not adequate" or just disagreed with one of your fathers approach. as a person who learned through him, how have you noticed your own twist and approach on things, in comparison or look back onto your fathers work and thought process or ideas?

did the mole surprise you, are paintings often moldy? and how do you handle that smell? or did it even smell? (shudder) I am not sure I wanna know, but I do. what happens when a wooden piece is moldy or rotting, how would you approach that?

Thank you for the index, it makes it easy to find my favorites - The Brawler (the absolute chaos of what was done to the painting, the unending horrible scraping and tons of Julian sass make this my all time favorite), Wood That It Were So Simple (my favorite from a technical standpoint) and L’Aurora (I think this painting is gorgeous and loved how the colors came out during cleaning).

No, I no longer have the original-long story, so the copies on YouTube are all that exist.

Just watched Mother Mary and it's like a recap or outline of a lot of following videos. All the steps we are now familiar with, in abbreviated form.

Yes! The passenger elevator was manned by Harry who had a wooden broom handle cut short with a nail in one end in case there was any trouble- South Michigan Ave back in the 80s and 90s was pretty sketchy. The freight elevator was manned by Richie who was an extra in The Untouchables- he was an honest to god greaser who drag raced, etc. the stories I have about that building… I could go on. It was a relic of another era, one that doesn’t, can’t exist today.
