Sept Book Club Review - Pretty good! A little cringe! ๐ฅ๐
🕑 Added 2024-09-27 16:00:08 +0000 UTCThis month we read The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence. As always, the only thing I knew about this was it was recommended by a friend and a guy at Waterstones. Sounds good!
Beginning: great, interesting world building, totally unique locations, really held my attention. I wonder where this is going??
Middle: ehhhh... maybe I'd read a chapter and then put it down. It was fine but pretty slow.
Ending: ohhhh so THAT'S what that means! A lot of fixing loose ends and making connections that weren't originally explained. Interesting concept!
Overall I'd say it's a solid 3.5/5! The romance choices felt weird, though, and there was some bits that really pulled me out of it.
Book 2 of this series is getting released soon and apparently there will be a Book 3. Would I continue reading them? Eh, maybe.
Did you read along this month? What did you think?? #nospoilers in case people are still reading!
October Book Club ๐ช๐ป
For Spooky Month, we'll be reading Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. I don't know anything about this one other than it won some awards and it's a mystery-thriller! Spooky!
๐ What is Book Club?
My goal is to read more - so I started Book Club! Each month, Iโll post what Iโm reading and you are welcome to join in ๐ Whether you want to read or listen, it's totally up to you! At the end of the month, weโll share our thoughts on the book (no spoilers in case you're still reading/listening).
You can try and read each book, or pick and choose month-to-month, or not! Itโs totally up to you.
Happy reading!
