Well I've got a problem, Patreon's email the first letter is uppercase and itch it's all lowercase, and neither are willing to change it. I saved the change on Patreon and it decided I did nothing and re-uppercased it, and on Itch it says someone has already claimed the uppercase one.. which is me with the lowercase one. how am I supposed to fix it? Do I need to contact support x.x

Update on the matter: Can't seem to re-verify email to change it over from match the case sensitivity and Itch has no keys generated apparently

So I just double checked and attached a matching lowercase email to my itch/patreon link but still not getting anything yet, will do some more digging to see if something else doesn't match but running out of ideas now

FWIW I got my key after adding the Patreon email to my itch account as a secondary. Not entirely happy - I use a single-use email thing so l don't like to share those between services - but it's _fine_, it's not really all that important, and I got the key.

Alrighy with the updates. 1. Patreon and itch use same email, and same casing. 2. Itch is directly connected to my steam account. 3. Itch account can not take my email as an alternate email as it is already the main email of the account.

Use Subaddressing. Built-in feature of email, add a + and some text, and it'll be treated as a different email by Patreon without needing a separate email account. See my earlier post for more details.

Happy to help! And fun fact, you can use this same method to track which websites are selling your data. Just add a unique subaddress to your email whenever you create an account and see if that unique subaddress pops up in your spam :P

You can add additional emails to your itch.io account in settings, make sure its entered EXACTLY as it shows in your patreon settings as it is case sensitive for some reason

RESOLUTION! SUBADDRESSING! Go to your mismatched email and insert a + before the @ symbol, then insert some text (like the name of the website eg anyone+patreon@gmail.com). Submit the new email and verify the change. Once this is done, edit the email again to exactly match the capitalisation. Remove the + and everything you added (AnyOne@gmail.com). Submit and verify. You have now edited your email without changing your email account :D

EDIT: SOLUTION IN REPLY! My issue. The cases do not match. Two upper-case letters here, all lower-case there. However, I cannot edit my email address on either patreon or itch. I will have to create a whole new email account and transfer ownership back and forth. Whoo...

This was the issue i had, my patreon email had a capital letter but itch.io didn't, had to change my itch account to my alt email and back to my regular email with a capital and then the link worked for me

Per instructions I have generated an itch account with my Patreon email. It has been verified, however when clicking the steam key link it goes to a 404 error.

As an additional point for the requirements, you need to make sure your email is verified on itch. It showed I didn't have any links until I verified.

I had an itch account but on a different email, I made a new Account, linked it to steam and Patreon and verified the email. When I open the link it says no codes have been generated and when I tap the game it says I don't have access to the page. When I've played in the past I've used the other itch account but neither work

Linked accounts is good feature to call-out. Have been using it for years on itch.io and it works a treat. Had no issues hooking it up here. Though may have questions on file structure (file data no longer in app data, cloud save, etc)

(just so everyone knows, they let you have multiple emails associated with your itch account, for just this sort of situation! I have one email for itch, but I’ve also told them about my patreon and kickstarter email addresses, and it works great.)

So I had some trouble, but was able to fix it. It looks like when itch checks the email its case sensitive, so it didnt work until I made the case match
