I'm actually having the same bug, but with the Contest 3 mini-scene.

Not sure what is going on but I started a new game, progressed through the first night, explored a bit, slept, then in the AM re-explored some more (including going into the alley on root and plugging some machines in) then chose to do Beryl 1, closed without saving for the night... went back in and now when I go to the alley in root I get a mini-scene which I suspect is Cadence mini 2.

your saves should persist no matter where you downloaded the game from. Im pretty sure. Also yeah if you use the itch client it auto updates.

So I'm just going to restart my progress since I downloaded the .exe directly instead of through itch. That means it also updates automatically right?
