New Sugarplum Cafe art + plans for the new year
🕑 Added 2023-12-30 18:00:08 +0000 UTCHere's an update on visuals for Sugarplum Cafe! Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a playable build done by December like I have in past years, but I have been able to spend this month avidly working on the game.
Some of the UI and items have new art, but I think what would be more interesting to show is the new Madeline designs. Originally they all looked the same as Vanilla Madeline but with different colors, but after receiving some feedback that it was hard for colorblind people to tell them apart I decided to switch them up a little bit while still staying true to the original design.
My plan for 2024 is to prioritize working on my game over my other art. Not that I haven't done so before, but I'd like to go back to it! My dream has always been to make a living from my art, and I no longer think drawing art to post online is going to make that dream come true. (Art fairs maybe, but see previous post for why art fair stuff didn't work out. I'll consider it in the future but would like to finish this project first.)
I would still like to experiment with art styles and I do have some art commissions scheduled for January, so you will still see some other art from me, but I'd *really* like to get this game done as soon as possible! Don't want it to be stuck in development hell.
