Jupiter was one of the designs that came most clearly to me. I really wanted to play with the rose motif on her dress and add some pink to contrast the green, especially since pink is her secondary color on her sailor senshi uniform.
The tricky part was making this dress feel more fashion-forward rather than just a pretty dress with flowers on it. I think pairing it with boots instead of the typical heels makes it a little more chic? I originally wanted to give her boots that went all the way up but then they would probably get lost in the fabric.
I used the anime versions as my reference image in the corner for Mercury and Mars, but I was so disappointed with Jupiter's anime version that I had to resort to the original manga design. Look at how much they deyassified the gown...
It might not look like a huge difference, but I think the silhouette is so much more sultry. I'm especially disappointed with how the distinctive neckline went away, especially because I suspect it was inspired by Versace.
I have a whole set of IG stories talking about how the princess dresses as a whole had strong resemblances to Versace dresses back then, so I believe it's more than just a coincidence!
Anyways, my series as a whole is inspired by the manga versions of the dresses - I just use the anime pictures as references because they're easier to look at, I think. But if you prefer the manga references in the corner let me know!

I reallly love this one. I think the boots also bring in a little of her sort of tomboy charm too so it's not just purely elegant. Amazing attention to detail and I feel a nice sense of rhythm in the way the embellishments are placed!
