This was loosely based on a design I did 5 years ago, shown below for reference. I really thought I did something with this...
One design lesson you should take away from this look is just because you put a lot of detail into something doesn't make it good fashion - like yeah, those swirls took me forever to line traditionally but you can barely make out the wing or caduceus motifs and the gold color is barely visible.
I wasn't really trying to redo this dress per se; it was more that I wanted to design a "classical goddess" inspired ensemble and then add some elements from the old design as an easter egg.
I won't lie, I have thought about doing an original drag fashion artbook with redrawn versions of Ira D'Essance's outfits matching various Drag Race runway themes and maybe writing a long retrospective about paper drag during the process. Really don't think I would sell many copies though, so it's not worth the time I'd spend redesigning everything π
