This time our subject is far more abstract. Yet, this very abstraction reveals—very concretely—why building a strong methodology is so important.

While accurate, this defi nition lacks accessibility for designers and creative thinkers. Analyzing data and relationships in an infinite possibility space is difficult to grasp intuitively.
So let’s build a new metaphor together: instead of latent space, imagine a Latent Sea.
3. The Latent Sea Allegory
Picture a sea — its depth is unknown. The result you’re looking for is somewhere at the bottom. You’re on a boat above. You could go back to the shore, have a coffee, enjoy the beach, spend time with friends — this is your “real world.” But once you dive into the sea, the rules change.
If you’re a photographer needing a palm tree image, you can go out and take the photo. Or — you could dive into the latent sea and retrieve it from the ocean floor.
We’ve already defined this sea as one filled with infinite possibilities. Just dive — and claim your treasure.
4. Zeno’s Paradox & the Treasures in Infinite Depth
Zeno once proposed: if Achilles races a tortoise that has a head start, he can never catch it. Every time Achilles reaches where the tortoise was, it has already moved ahead. Thus, Achilles is always catching up, never overtaking.
