Those wondering about LotR... the insistence upon the extended editions has me waffling. Four hour movie I didn't love the first time......

Actually just thought of something that would be right up your alley: From Paris With Love. It's a 2010 action film with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Travolta. It's non-stop action from start to finish with John Travolta absolutely devouring scenery and stealing every scene of the film. I actually think Travolta's Charlie Was might just make your all time favorite characters list. Also, not a ton of folks react to it so you'd be breaking new ground.

Natalie Portman and Ellen Burstyn both give two of my favorite performances of all time. ❤ (By the way my favorite Aronofsky film is "The Fountain". Not the most popular choice.) 😂

I still stand that Ellen Burystn in Requiem is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen! Literally breaks my heart every time I watch! Can't believe she lost the Oscar for it... on the other hand Natalie Portman is fantastic in Black Swan and was well deserving of her Oscar!!

Extended versions are for squeezing extra money out of fans. There's a reason why edits and cuts happen. Lord of the Rings could cut 30 minutes out of each of the theatrical versions. Walking in meadows to theme music and Orlando Bloom making vague useless statements while gazing off into nowhere are an hour to themselves.

I think it would be cool for you to watch an iconic sports movie this time. I would suggest Miracle. It’s about the 1980 US Olympics hockey team, and arguably the greatest upset in the history of sports. It’s up there with remember the titans in quality, just not quite as popular because hockey isn’t as popular as football.
