In my experience authority figures especially the older ones tend to be jerks especially if they are famous. There are exceptions but it is not common for there to be a pleasant old person for me. I just draw from that well of resentment to write Oak that way. Course I also intended to actually give Oak some good points as I am aware that there might be more sides to a person.

I have considered it, but don't trust myself to write it. iT'S sort of the opposite of his image? So I don't quite know how I'd go about it

We can guess what everyone but Oak thinks. Have you ever considered making Oak a jerk to those outside his friends and family and his image? Considering that for a fic I might write
