Perhaps it was because Hynix's missile launch into the territory took Egypt by surprise, or perhaps Egypt had been neglecting its training, and its internal defenses had grown lax.
In a synchronized salvo, all eighty anti-ship missiles launched by Hynix surprisingly faced no interception and hit their designated area.
Amidst the deafening explosions, the missiles continuously striking the pyramid were the most magnificent fireworks in this night.
Sun Cheng and Thunder stood on a small hill on the Giza Plateau, which, though elevated, was relatively flat. Besides the sparse distribution of pyramids a few kilometers away, there were no other towering structures in sight.
With their wide field of vision and the unique mechanical body construction of the Cybertronians, they generally possessed night vision capabilities. Therefore, even standing a kilometer away, Sun Cheng and the others could still roughly assess the situation at the pyramid.
On the pyramid, as the first anti-ship missile struck, the high-explosive warhead inside the missile's warhead section hit the tower and immediately triggered a massive explosion.
This anti-ship missile, designed for naval targets, was equally effective against structures. Almost every missile's explosion could instantly shatter dozens or even hundreds of large stone blocks connected together, causing massive pieces of stone to fall from the top and around the pyramid.
Although there were three or four missiles that landed at the base of the pyramid, the rest hit the tower itself. The destruction was evident, and the pyramid was now in ruins.
"That's enough... Hynix, continue to reload the missiles. You and Forerunner, stay concealed and await my next command," Sun Cheng ordered, directing a new command to Hynix, who was over two hundred kilometers away.
Leading the way, Sun Cheng leaped off the small hill in the valley. "Cover me!" He issued the order to Thunder. As for Excavator, who had recently seemed to regain all his memories and become uncontrollable, Sun Cheng paid him no heed. This guy's mechanical body had been modified by Sun Cheng's engineers. His strength was comparable to some advanced Decepticon warriors but slightly inferior to Thunder, not to mention Sun Cheng himself, who had quasi-commander-level combat abilities.
Because they had just endured the attack of eighty missiles, the once-unnamed pyramid now looked severely damaged.
Sun Cheng believed that the military in Egypt would soon investigate the attacked area, given the recent electromagnetic pulse bomb and the American cloud-bursting bomb. Unless they all hit Lord Fallen, it would at most worsen his injuries a bit. Sun Cheng didn't think that a Primus of the Cybertron Planet could be so easily dealt with. Besides, he wasn't sure if Lord Fallen had left any hidden tricks on the superweapon he had built. Therefore, he didn't have much time to spare and had to act quickly.
Jumping and climbing, it took him only ten seconds to reach a height of over sixty meters on the pyramid. At this height, there was a conspicuous large hole that had been hit by several missiles, and the stone had mostly been cleared away, revealing a deep passage leading into the pyramid's interior.
The passage was only five or six meters high, but it was sufficient for Sun Cheng. "Thunder, Excavator, keep watch outside!" After giving the command, Sun Cheng didn't hesitate and went straight into the passage.
In the Real World, this pyramid was known as the "Pyramid of Khufu," but in the Transformers Universe, it had no name. According to Skyfire's memories, this unnamed pyramid was created by Lord Fallen's Decepticon followers in the ancient past. Their purpose was to hide Lord Fallen's planet-destroying weapon while evading the detection of other Primuses who might have followed him. To achieve this, the outer walls of the pyramid were extraordinarily thick, incorporating various trace elements that formed a unique insulating layer. This insulating layer not only effectively isolated the metallic or energy fluctuations emitted by the superweapon hidden inside but also prevented Humans and Cybertronians outside from using electromagnetic detection or other means to peer inside.
The missile strike had created a hole of several meters in depth, and Sun Cheng quickly reached the deepest part. Facing the stone blocking his way, he raised his right hand. His right arm, made of metal, shifted, revealing two combat missiles that immediately appeared and were aimed at the stone blocking his path. "Boom!" An explosion sent dust and debris flying as the shattered stone fragments continuously pelted Sun Cheng's mechanical body. Two beams of light shot from his eyes, penetrating the smoke and continuing to probe the interior. "There are still stones inside!"
Once again, there was a slight movement on his back, and four combat missiles rose from the left side of his back. With a thought, Sun Cheng directed them towards the remaining smoke ahead.
"Boom!"
Another explosion echoed, producing even thicker smoke and flying stone fragments than before.
Sun Cheng swiftly moved towards the smoke, and the missile launchers that had just risen from his back were retracted into his body.
At the same time, he drew his Battleship Sword and swung it continuously, cutting down the irregularly shaped rocks blocking his path both above the cave and in front of him.
Soon, he reached the end of the cave, where many rocks were still obstructing the way. But Sun Cheng's face revealed a smile.
A piece of bright silver metal, seemingly embedded in the rock, was exposed. Its composition was quite unique, not steel or silver but a rare alloy.
"Found it!"
Sun Cheng felt the spark in his chest burning intensely. He swung his Battleship Sword, slicing through the rocks surrounding the metal.
After a dozen minutes, accompanied by a sudden rush of murky air, Sun Cheng kicked a small crack in the rocks nearby.
"Crack!"
The heavy rocks, weighing hundreds of kilograms, flew inward, and a crack grew larger. At the same time, more murky air gushed out from the crack.
Sun Cheng used both his hands and feet, chopping with the sword while kicking with his feet. In just a few seconds, a gradually enlarging hole appeared before him.
When the hole was already three to four meters wide, Sun Cheng stopped. Then he bent down and stretched his head into the hole. The next moment, a massive metal structure, at least two to three hundred meters tall, appeared in his field of view. It looked somewhat like a signal tower and somewhat like a soaring metal spear. It was none other than the Stellar Extraction Tower, a superweapon created by Lord Fallen as recorded in Skyfire's memory.
With the enormous metal structure before him, Sun Cheng slowly entered the hole, climbed onto the metal structure, and numerous metal joints extended rapidly from his arms and mechanical body, adhering to the metal structure like octopus tentacles.
This was Sun Cheng's purpose for this trip: to steal the legendary superweapon created by Lord Fallen, capable of destroying stars, and known as the Stellar Extraction Tower.
An uninterrupted stream of data began to flow from this legendary superweapon back into Sun Cheng's mind.
What he didn't know was that almost at the moment he began to read the information from this superweapon, a pair of crimson eyes suddenly opened beneath the Red Sea and looked in the southwest direction.
"Who is it? Who is stealing my weapon?"
The owner of the crimson eyes was a colossal mechanical warrior, standing tens of meters tall.
Lord Fallen's current condition was clearly terrible. Several electromagnetic pulse bombs had caused numerous electronic components in his body to malfunction, and white smoke continuously seeped from his mechanical body.
Even worse, he had recently been ambushed by Autobots and Humans. A weapon manufactured by Humans had exploded almost three to four meters from him, leaving him with no room to dodge, and he had virtually taken a direct hit from a heavy aerial bomb.
His already unhealed wounds had worsened slightly.
Therefore, even though he had been tracking the energy fluctuations emitted by the Leadership Module on Ironhide and had followed it all the way to the seabed of the Red Sea, he had soon lost the other party's trail!
"Soundwave, tell me what happened at the Stellar Extraction Tower... and find the Autobots for me..."
Seeing the situation becoming increasingly uncontrollable, Lord Fallen, as proud as he was, had to suppress his frustration and contact Soundwave in Outer Space, ordering him to investigate the cause of his sudden misfortune.
It didn't take long!
A few minutes later, Lord Fallen received the intelligence relayed by Soundwave from Outer Space. "Lord Fallen, the Decepticon traitor, Frenzy, has attacked the Stellar Extraction Tower. It seems he wants to steal your weapon... As for the Autobots, I haven't found Ironhide's trace... But I discovered a convoy of Autobots transporting Optimus Prime's remains. They have arrived in Abu Rij, Sudan, and are continuing north along the highway, apparently preparing to enter Egypt..."
"Egypt!"
Lord Fallen looked coldly in the direction of Cairo, where the Stellar Extraction Tower was located. "So, Soundwave's traitor, Frenzy, let's see how long you can run!"
Lord Fallen's injuries had plagued him for millions of years, and he had been forced to spend a considerable amount of time in hibernation to slowly recover from his injuries. His deteriorating state meant he couldn't afford to waste even a single second. The top priority was to recapture the Leadership Module and then restore himself to his peak condition.
After adjusting his position slightly, Lord Fallen continued to rush towards the south of Egypt.
