SNEAK PEEK - Gouache sketchbook study (filmed for the DWM video) ๐งก๐๏ธ
🕑 Added 2023-01-27 09:00:04 +0000 UTCHi Everyone,
Happy Friday!
Yesterday as part of "daily doodles" I decided to dust off my gouaches. I'm getting more and more comfortable drawing while shooing the process (I'm starting to forget about the camera), so I filmed this painting and still had a lot of fun! I thought it would be good material for the chill "Draw with me"video ๐
Here are some frames from the shooting:
I used the following materials:
- Talens Art Creation sketchbook
- A red colored pencil
- Acrylic ink from Winsor and Newton
- A glass pen
- Gansai paints
- Acryla Gouaches from Holbein
- Holbein Watercolors (which I think are more like gouaches)
- A few colored pencils as finishing touches
- Paper towel - not only in a standard way but also as a print pattern for the sweater ๐งถ
I hope you like it and you'll enjoy drawing with me ๐ค Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Gaby

Yes but itโs tricky when it comes to very small pieces ๐
I use Talens Art Creation for almost everything ๐ Just recently discovered Arches paper so I use it for watercolours and now for Karin Markers but other than that I use just a good, old, affordable Talens
Very cool, Gaby! I'm also studying gouache, but for landscapes. I think gouache is a bit simpler than watercolor, at least it's easier to correct mistakes ๐
Thatโs beautiful! What sketchbook would you recommend for mixed media? I am concentrating on colored pencils only for now but even with them itโs a lot of burnishing and even using solvents to blend.
