The Porsche 908 lineage represents an often overlooked crucial evolution in the Porsche sports car lineup, following up from the wildly successful 907 and succeeded by the famed 917's - the 908 sits right in the middle.
This livery on the kurz spyder flunder variant might well be the most famous 908 livery ever, as it was raced by legendary driver Peter Revson and racing fanatic Steve McQueen. Their exploits at the 1970 Sebring 12 hours, a race notorious for its mass dnf's and mechanic gremlins plaguing the top class, Revson raced the car for 8 of 12 hours with incredible pace, even inheriting the lead near the final hours of the race. McQueen wasn't in top form as he had to drive with one leg in a cast (something you never see anymore) - and they almost took the outright win. Mario Andretti jumped into the 2nd placed 512S to make sure the 908 would not take victory. Talk about petty!
The story of this race is so insane, they should make a movie about it in my opinion. Just don't let Hollywood do it, they ruined the Ford vs Ferrari rivalry with their comedic attempt at documenting that legendary era.

Looks amazing! Thanks. Out of interest - why did you go with the half faired headlights? I've seen them fully covered or fully open but not half and half in this way. I assume it's just to give a representation of the covering because if they were fully faired it causes a problem with AC headlight function? Keep up the good work!
