Nürburgring 1000km 1966 - Ford GT40 #47
🕑 Added 2025-05-04 06:00:16 +0000 UTCFor the WSC60s GT40 Mk1.
Essex Wire, alongside Ford France, was among the most successful privately ran "works" team who ran GT40 production chassis during the 1966 WSC season.
At the 1966 Nürburgring 1000km, two cars were entered for Essex Wire, neither finished. P/1010 (#47) driven by John Whitmore and Jochen Neerpasch dropped out after losing a wheel early on in the race. Jochen never even got to drive the car.

Lovely subtle (and unsubtle) differences between the two. Thanks for fulfilling that very specific request! Only having one of a two car set is like having gin without tonic, Romeo without Juliet or Holman without Moody...
