Briggs Cunningham may be best known for his famed 50's sports cars which raced all over the world, during a time when the americans were still trying to establish themselves in sports car racing and still attempting to learn about aerodynamics. Cunningham may have stopped building racing cars after a few years, but he himself kept on racing.
In his final years as a racing driver, he got his hands on a Porsche 904/4 GTS which he raced with success up to 1966. In the 1964 Sebring 12h, he and co-driver Lake Underwood finished 9th overall, 1st in class.
