Drawing is a struggle
🕑 Added 2025-05-28 19:51:03 +0000 UTCCan't believe I'm saying this, as drawing has always been my passion, escape and way of venting throughout my whole existence, whether it was big projects, doodling what I was feeling or just sketching for fun or out of boredom, or whatever, I'd never be able to imagine life without it. But i am struggling severely right now, feels like i am regressing, like im losing skill, i am panicking and I dont know where i'm going wrong. It feels like im not as good as I should be.
Drawing Cotton especially has been so difficult, despite really wanting to, as she is my truesona, I want her to represent me, I feel stupid connected to her, but I really dont like myself. It's such an ironic combination of "I want to express what im feeling through her" and "i cant stand looking at her because she is me". Sounds like that's a bit besides the point, but its one of the big reasons behind the struggle.
Regardless, I am making this post to let you know that I won't be posting in the following week (or two at most). I need a break from digital stuff, I'm shaking at the thought of touching the Ipad, and I want to go back to the "roots" for a bit, aka traditional stuff like watercolor and oil paints.
If you'd like to see those, I will be posting them once I'm back.
Thank you all for all of the suport and kind words that you've ever given me.

Hope you reset and take a break. Burnout is real and can be difficult to deal with. I'm sure that everyone who came to love your art will understand and wait. I'm sure we all just want to see you thriving and enjoying what you do. So rest up!

Sounds kinda like burnout or boredom to me, so yeah, changing gears for a while will likely do you a lot of good 😊
