The door of the hotel was open today.
Aker stepped into the door, and a familiar fresh feeling suddenly poured into his nose.
The white-bearded old man was still sitting behind the counter and flipping through his large books.
After Aker entered the door, he didn't even lift his head.
"Young man, are you here for Tara?"
"Mhm, is Tara here today?"
The old man with a white beard just waved his hand in Aker's direction.
"She took leave to go to the market today, maybe she will be back very late."
"Oh... thank you, grandpa."
"It seems like I can only come back and find her tomorrow."
The market area was not far away from the hotel. But to find a certain person in the bustling market could be very difficult.
Aker who had already walked out of the hotel's door, hesitated and walked into the hotel again.
"If Tara comes back, please tell her and ask her to go to the pub she went to in the morning, and I will wait for her there. please."
Although the old man with a white beard hadn't looked away from his big ledger, Aker still bowed respectfully.
The white-bearded old man raised his head and looked at Aker with interest through the lens of his glasses.
"Young man, you are really proactive. Do you like our Tara that much? Is it okay to let those two kids know?"
"No, no, no!" Aker waved his hand in a panic, "it's not that. I just want to ask her about something!"
The old man smiled and nodded to show that he understood it. After Aker thanked him again, he returned to the street outside the hotel.
The wind blowing between the streets and lanes today was very gentle, it was the refreshing weather unique to early summer. There were many residents living in this small town on the not-so-wide streets, as well as travelers who have just arrived here just like Aker.
Looking at the day-to-day scenery with warm wind and tranquility, Aker thought of the three girls living in the pub.
"I can't let them stay in the room all the time... After they came here, they haven't experienced this town much..."
Aker muttered to himself on the way back to the pub, at this time a bold idea was born in his mind.
…………
After returning to the pub, Aker first told Nia and Gurley of his thoughts.
"It's not a big problem if you want to go out. But what about Venus and Lynn? Now the two of them are marked by that special hair color. If someone who knows the wanted order sees it, it might cause trouble. "
After listening to Aker's thoughts, Gurley pointed out the biggest problem directly.
What Gurley pointed out, Aker had also thought about it before.
If they want to go out, Lynn's hooded robe was not too unnatural in this town full of travelers.
The wide straw hat that Venus wore when she came here could hide her, so it was also not easy to be noticed by others.
But now Aker was not concerned about these, but on the contrary, he was more concerned about their future.
They still had a long way to go in the future. Did they have to keep hiding like this? Why didn't they have the right to walk freely in the sun?
Perhaps after doing so, there would be successive attacks by the church and bounty hunters.
However, Aker hoped that everyone could have a happy life, instead of hiding every day like this.
He knew that this was just his willfulness, and he was not strong enough to protect them.
When Aker was in a vicious circle of self-blame, Gurley's voice seemed to have come in at the right time.
"You said before that you don't understand your magic gear at all, right?"
"Before you explain it to me, I don't even know what a magic gear is."
Aker touched his back with his hand. The wound torn by the claws of the fire wolf was still aching.
Although Loulou tried hard to heal, it still took some time to fully recover.
"Although I think I have mastered the Pupils of Blazing Flames, I don't have enough combat experience, and I've only experienced a few battles after leaving home."
"The combat experience is indeed not simple to learn. Intuition and many other elements have very important roles in the battle."
"So regarding whether I have the ability to protect them or not..."
Gurley stared at Aker who was not confident enough for a while, then turned around and shouted at the stairwell.
"Miss Venus, please come done, I need some help from you!"
There was no response from Venus on the second floor, probably because the voice was too small to hear.
Then came the sound of someone trotting downstairs. However, when she was about to reach the first floor, it might be because she was too anxious, she tripped over by herself and rolled directly from the stairs to the hall of the pub.
“……”
“……”
“……”
“……”
There was a strange silence in the hall, and none of the four people were saying anything.
Part 8
After Venus stayed on the ground facedown for a few seconds, she slowly propped up herself from the ground, revealing the pitiful and lovely smiling face.
"It doesn't hurt at all..."
There was still a crystal teardrop hanging from the corner of her eye.
It looked very painful no matter how other people looked at her...
Venus, who got up, lowered her head and patted her skirt, secretly wiping away the teardrops from the corners of her eyes thinking that no one noticed it.
Aker decisively chose to ignore this awkward atmosphere.
"What did you talk about upstairs in the room?"
It was hard for him to imagine Lynn and Venus sitting in the room and chatting calmly face to face.
"Loulou asked me something about the church, Miss Lynn has been sleeping."
She gave a wry smile. She knew that Lynn didn't sleep at all, she just didn't want to talk to her.
But judging from the fact that she didn't have any extreme reactions, probably in Lynn's heart, she no longer rejected Venus that much.
Gurley walked to Venus and stroked her head.
"If you are a blue-clothed Domain Mage, you should be able to use 'Domain', right?"
"Yes, yes..."
"Then please use the ‘Domain’ here. I’m going to teach this kid a lesson."
"Eh? Give me a lesson?"
"Yes. As a big brother, I will teach you the most basic fighting skills."
"Why does your statement give me goosebumps..."
Venus, on the other hand, nodded obediently. Although she was still a little bit resistant to other people commanding her to use magic, she felt that there should be no problem if they were Aker and Gurley who took her in.
Venus held her hands in front of her chest, and the pure white magic circle like her hair spread out under her feet.
Immediately afterward, the three of them disappeared from the same place in a blink of an eye.
…………
Before Aker even blinked, he was stunned by the rapidly replacing scenery in front of him.
The tables, chairs, and bar in the pub all disappeared, and he was standing on a vast ice field now.
In the distance were endless snow peaks, and the empty ice field was like a silver-white tablecloth.
Aker shivered all over in the cold wind.
"Miss Venus, although I am very grateful for your willingness to help... but why is this environment?"
"Because I'm used to... I'm sorry, I will..."
"Forget it, repeating the ‘domain’ will also be a great burden for you."
Aker turned his head and saw Gurley complaining loudly to Venus against the cold wind.
He didn't wear a trench coat that could barely protect one from the cold like Aker, but only a short-sleeved shirt and beach shorts. The cold wind whistling here must be like a sharp blade to Gurley.
Aker looked at this incredible scene and couldn't help laughing.
"Originally, I wanted to teach you slowly, but I can't stand this kind of place..." Although Gurley said so, he didn't seem to be cold. "summon your magic gear."
Aker activated the magic gear according to Gurley's request, and summoned the two silver-white pistols.
The familiar weight returned to his hand, and Aker felt an inexplicable sense of peace in mind.
"Don't treat magic gear as an ordinary magic tool, but sense its feeling."
"The feeling of magic gear?"
"Didn't you say that you know how to use your magic gear? It is the feeling of wanting to understand it when you first came into contact with the magic gear, trying to establish a spiritual communication with the magic gear, and treating the magic gear as a human being like us. "
"The feeling I had when I saw Pupils of Blazing Flames the first time..."
Aker recalled the scene when he took Pupils of Blazing Flames from his father for the first time.
——Pupils of Blazing Flames, I'm looking forward to your performance in a fight.
Excitedly wearing the silver-white wrist bracer on his wrist, what he felt at that time was the infinite curiosity about the partner who would always be with him in the future.
——Aker, do you know? Pupils have always been by your side since you were born. I thought you would not have the opportunity to use her, so I only gave her to you now.
——We have been together since I was born... Is Pupils of Blazing Flames also a family member?
——Yes, so you have to treat her like a family member.
Although until now, Aker still couldn't understand the meaning of what his father said at the time. But he never treated Pupils of Blazing Flames as a weapon without feelings, instead, he treated her as another silent partner on the journey.
So, Pupils of Blazing Flames, what kind of secret did you have...
P9
Embracing the feeling he had when he first met the Pupils of Blazing Flames, Aker's energy was like a red thread, connecting himself with the silver-white pistoles in his hand
He closed his eyes. Everything in front of him plunged into darkness. But at this time, several pictures flowed through his mind like fragments of memory.
——The warm sun, the breeze with a faint fragrance...
——The cherry trees were in full bloom, their pale pink petals were flying in the wind...
——Under the cherry tree, standing with her back to Aker, a dimly petite figure...
The passing memory fragments came to an abrupt end, and Aker suddenly opened his eyes and returned to reality.
There was still an ice field in front of me, and the beautiful scenery in his mind seemed to be just a product of fantasy.
It took less than a few seconds, but Aker was unable to forget it for a long time.
There, there seemed to be the figure of a certain girl...
"How is it, do you feel anything?"
Gurley, who had been observing Aker, saw him open his eyes and asked.
"Sorry, give me some more time!"
Aker tried again without delay, but this time he could never see the beauty that resembled a paradise again.
"Did you see something?"
"...nothing, just a little distracted."
Perhaps, it was the scenery he had seen somewhere when he was young. The reason why he remembered it just now was probably because he recalled the mood when he first met Pupils of Blazing Flames, so that the memory of childhood reappeared in his mind.
Not knowing if Gurley believed Aker, but he didn't continue to ask.
"The magic gear and its holder also need time to adapt to each other. The lady of the 'Heinz' family may have a better understanding of the 'Light Flame Sword.' It doesn't matter if you still can't feel your magic gear now, I just tell you the important points."
"Uncle Gurley, are you also the holder of the magic gear?"
"No. How could someone like me who works in a pub have magic gear?" Gurley laughed unfettered, "It's just that I have known other magic gear holders before, so I understand a little bit. But to be honest, I have never used magic gear before, so you can only try it yourself."
"But you still know a lot more than me..."
Gurley helped the wide-brimmed hat crooked by the cold wind, and continued to instruct Aker to use the magic gear.
"I said before that you need to establish communication with the magic gear, you should have done it, right? It is to feel an invisible line connecting yourself and the magic gear. "
When Aker saw the beauty of the cherry blossoms in full bloom, he did have this feeling.
Although Gurley said that he had never personally used magic gear, he did know magic gear better than Aker, the owner of the magic gear.
"Keeping this feeling and letting the body become familiar with the existence of the magic gear is to achieve the so-called effect that one plus one is greater than two."
"Okay."
Pupils of Blazing Flames seemed to be tailor-made for Aker.
But before, he didn't realize the feeling of being connected to Pupils of Blazing Flames. Until Gurley reminded him so, he really felt that this kind of connection was much stronger than before.
"Then use your full strength and try to attack that mountain."
Aker infused all his energy into Pupils of Blazing Flames in his hand and aimed at the peak of the opposite snow mountain.
The moment the trigger was pulled, the silver-white magic energy was turned into a sharp arrow, galloping towards the distant mountain.
In the next moment, the mountain shone with the same silver-white light. Afterward, a loud noise rang out, and the ice field trembled slightly.
“……”
Aker felt the vibration under his feet, and couldn't say a word for a long while.
Anyone could see that the power of the attack just now was strong enough to shake the earth. But Aker who unleashed this attack was even more shocked.
That was the true power of Pupils of Blazing Flames after he felt the connection with her.
"Don't just stare at it blankly, it is time to go. It's an avalanche."
"What?"
Gurley patted Aker's shoulder heavily, pulling his consciousness back to reality. However, Aker still hadn't reacted yet.
"I said it's an avalanche! It is normal for such a violent explosion to cause an avalanche in this environment! Miss Venus, hurry up and close the "Domain", we are ready to go back!"
Gurley spoke loudly to Venus, who seemed to be forgotten behind him, but he didn't get Venus's response for a while.
Then the two turned their heads to find that Venus seemed to have passed out due to the violent explosion caused by Aker.
