She realized it again that she was running away.
It was because of her own recklessness that she made the "big noise" in Pope Sirtis' words. If Venus was injured because of her, Leah didn't know how she would face it.
——If you are my shield, then I shall be your sword.
Entering the church, becoming a blue clothed knight, giving up the childhood that was supposed to be spent with children of the same age... The vows made at that time supported Leah all the way in her journey.
"Oh, I want to talk about something." Pope Sirtis sat back next to Leah's bed, "but I want to ask you a question first."
"Eh?"
"In your eyes, what do those people... how do I say?" He thought for a few seconds, "Mhm...that is, what do you think of the children with Venus?"
Leah was stunned, she hadn't thought about this issue until just now.
Her memory gradually became clear. She was silent for a while, and then smiled.
"I think it's Venus's real shelter compared to here."
Even Leah herself also didn't expect that she would admit that Venus had left her so simply.
"Hahaha, is this the answer you got? It seems that what I am going to say next should be good news for you. "
Then, he leaned in Leah's ear and said something softly.
"Eh!? Eh!? Eh!? Is this really your decision? "
"Of course, thanks to you making such a big noise, I can justify the reason for this behavior!"
"So... so that's the reason..."
In fact, Leah still didn't know what method the man in front of her used to accomplish "that kind of thing".
"Today, I'm here just to ask your opinion. Now that you have made such a high evaluation of them, you definitely agree to my approach, right? "
"Mhm, as far as the situation is concerned, it is indeed the best choice. But is Augustus okay with it?"
"They can only cause small troubles at best, and my words still have some weight in the church. Okay then, you can go back to rest, you will be given a vacation during this period."
"Mhm..." Leah smiled and watched Pope Sirtis walk to the door of the room, "Dad, thank you..."
He just raised his hand with his back to Leah and left the room.
…………
For the whole month, neither Aker nor Lynn was assigned to work in the pub, but instead lived in a room on the second floor of the pub to rest.
During this period, the mysterious man in the tailcoat -according to Venus's introduction, was the butler who took care of her and Leah's daily life in the church, visited a pub once and brought them two handwritten notes by Leah.
The first one was for everyone, and the content was roughly to apologize for the damage caused by her, and to express gratitude to everyone for taking care of Venus. And she hoped to make up for that damage she has caused, and if she had the opportunity, she would visit everyone again. This meticulous approach was similar to Venus.
The second letter was written to Venus alone. Everyone only knew that Venus cried after reading the letter silently. In terms of what was written on it, no one else part Venus knew it. But Venus's reaction could already tell everyone the general content of the letter.
Lynn found Gurley and chatted for one night after that. At that time, Aker was also there.
What they were talking about was nothing more than the church.
Lynn had been unable to understand the phrase "Be blinded by hatred" said by the man in the tailcoat, and she still couldn't accept this kind of thought that seemed to be a compromise to her.
"For example, take the friendship between Miss Leah and Miss Venus, do you think it is an insincere feeling? A vicious heart would not produce unsullied feelings. To tolerate the good and punish the wicked is a natural thing. As long as you make a mistake, you must work hundreds of times harder to make up for the mistake. But this can take many forms. Blood for flood is what a beast that hasn't evolved will do."
Those original were the words that Gurley told Lynn. She didn't say anything for a long time after that. In the end, she simply said "thank you" and then left.
Although Aker didn't know if Lynn had ever talked to Venus afterward, the atmosphere between the two of them was no longer that hostile like before.
In the letters Leah wrote to everyone, there was also another letter.
It was a letter of recommendation to Frimaire Academy from the church. With it, Aker, Loulou, and Lynn could enroll immediately without taking the exam.
"After sending an executor, now they gave us this letter. I don't know if I can accept it."
Aker put the letter of recommendation on the table. He would not accept the "gift" of the church by himself. It was up to everyone to decide whether to accept it.
"Isn't this obvious?" Gurley took the recommendation letter over and carefully examined the sealing wax on the envelope. "This is to sell you a favor, and this recommendation letter is what you need most. Although Frimaire Academy is in a neutral position, they will not ignore the recommendation from the church. If you want to enter Frimaire Academy with your own ability, the resistance will undoubtedly be great. This letter of recommendation will save a lot of trouble. Of course, it is up to you whether to accept this or not."
"I think this is an opportunity..." Loulou hesitated, "because no matter whether we accept this letter of recommendation or not, we will definitely enter Frimaire Academy in the end. And if we enroll with the help of their recommendation..."
"The church won't give us a hard time..." Venus followed Loulou's words, "In this situation, I think...but I think... we should enter Frimaire Academy as soon as possible, and seek shelter from them... It's not because I was originally from the church.."
Venus chose her expression carefully so as not to cause misunderstanding. She was still worried that others would not trust her because of her identity.
"I think what Venus said makes sense."
"Eh? Miss Lynn..."
"I said this time I would reluctantly agree with your opinion! Don’t let me repeat the same words so many times..."
"Thanks... Thanks..."
"Then, if everyone decides..."
Aker patted the table lightly, and finalized the decision.
…………
"Sister Nia, Brother Gurley, thank you for taking care of us!"
At the entrance of the Magic Train, Aker bowed to Nia and Gurley, with whom he had been staying for a while. The three girls next to him also did the same thing.
"Don't be this serious. If this goes on, you will become a very boring man!"
"Yes, as long as you don't forget that you still owe our shop money."
"I put the money you borrowed from me on his tab. If you don't want to see him being squeezed dry by me when you come back, try your best to grow up to be a competent adult and pay off all your debts! "
"Wait a minute, I never agree to such a thing! If they don't come back, doesn't that mean that I will spend the rest of my life in your pub!"
"What! You got any problem with that?"
"I..."
They had already left the pub, but Aker could still feel the same atmosphere as in the pub.
No matter where he was, as long as he had family members by his side, he would feel the warmth of home.

Chapter 5 Bice Empire•Imperial Capital
Since the planning and reconstruction of the capital of the Bice Empire, the capital had been divided into four areas on the map.
With the rapid development of Magic Technology, the two districts, northern, and western, had merged and become Magic Technology Development Zone. Many companies related to Magic Technology had established their headquarters here.
The southern district was an ordinary residential area, while the eastern area was the best place for leisure and entertainment because of its seaside and beautiful environment.
The main feature of the Eastern District was that there were many shops, and the variety of goods fully satisfied the consumer psychology of travelers. Of course, there were also some nobles who had their own mansions here.
Everywhere one could see the cube magic machinery that was installed in a hidden place on the street and emitted a hint of fluorescence. It was this kind of magical machinery that purified the air in the eastern district all day long, and the manner of passengers was getting higher and higher, so that the area with the largest flow of people in the imperial capital would not become messy.
The energy for the four districts of the Imperial City came from the large-scale perpetual magic set underground by the Imperial Academy of Sciences located at the junction of the northwest district and the east district. By connecting to the vast forest that was once an ancient battlefield, it continuously absorbed the magic energy remaining in the air, ensuring the energy source of the entire imperial capital without destroying the natural ecology.
Being used by the Imperial Academy of Sciences effectively, the vast forest surrounding the three districts had become a free energy station. Eighty percent of the energy needed for the development of the Northern and the Western District came from there, while the remaining twenty percent and residents' daily energy needs were supplemented by electricity.
The magic energy squandered during the war transformed this forest into the most dangerous ecological area, and the third-tier and above beasts used it as a habitat. It was basically impossible for humans to walk across the forest.
In addition to civilian airships, the magical train from the imperial capital to the north, west, and east became the only way for ordinary people to enter the imperial capital. The vast forest had become a natural barrier for the imperial capital.
Therefore, the maintenance of the magic train and its tracks to the imperial capital had long been perfected, ensuring the lifeline of the people.
Under heavy maintenance, if the magic train still had an accident, it was only possible that someone deliberately caused it.
…………
The sudden expansion of magic energy spread rapidly around a certain point on the guide rail in front of the locomotive.
The buffer equipment of the train was destroyed in an instant, and the high temperature melted the head of the unmanned locomotive. Fortunately, the magic energy driving devices were laid on the whole train and controlled by different units, so that the magic train did not derail.
The emergency braking system forcibly stopped the train's body. The core of Magic Technology, the molecular power circuit, converted all the power into a magic energy barrier that resisted high temperature and impact.
Although these protective measures were all in place within a second, the impact caused by the magic energy explosion did not weaken. The high-temperature energy engulfed the magic train, the steel body was melted into molten iron by thousands of degrees, and none of the passengers on the train survived...
——This kind of tragedy did not happen.
…………
After the detachment of the Imperial Defense Bureau arrived at the scene of the accident, it was already five minutes later. The accident happened only a few kilometers away from the imperial capital. Fortunately, the train had already left the dangerous forest area.
What was shown before their eyes was a different scene from what they had imagined. A huge area of the ground had collapsed, and the magic train like a giant steel snake overturned sideways, lying in the middle of the huge hole.
Under the guidance of the Imperial Defense Bureau detachment, the passengers on the train left their carriages safely.
The reason why they did not flee the scene of the accident in a swarm after the accident was not because the doors of carriages could not be opened because of a malfunction. It was because, after the accident, someone immediately blocked all the doors, and they could not open them until the detachment of the Imperial Defense Bureau arrived at the scene.
All passengers were asked not to leave the scene for the time being, and several teenagers attracted everyone's attention.
"I heard that you protected this train during this magic energy explosion, and also blocked all the doors?"
The uncle who looked like the captain looked down at the little girl in front of him suspiciously.
The white-haired girl whose height only reached his chest just lowered her head, as if answering the uncle's question in a low voice. The surrounding passengers were very noisy. Of course, the uncle with stubble couldn't hear what she said.
"Ah, sorry, can you speak up? It is necessary for me to record the course of this accident. Other passengers said that you acted first, so we want to hear your opinion... Oh, by the way, just call me Uncle Marceau."
Marceau squatted down to talk to the little girl in a soft tone like he was coaxing her,
but doing so had produced an opposite effect. Marceau suddenly leaned in front of the white-haired girl, scared her into turning her head and jumping into the arms of the boy behind her.
The girl with golden hair beside him finally couldn't bear to speak.
"Uncle, you should take us out of here now, right? We are also victims after all. There is no reason to interrogate us, right? "
"Elder Sister Lynn, that uncle isn't interrogating us..."
The blue-haired girl on the side corrected her.
"Uh...Uncle Marceau?"
It seemed that the black-haired boy in the center of the girls called the uncle's name.
"Mhm?"
Marceau stood up. The kind image that had been shown in front of the white-haired girl before has completely disappeared, and he returned to the original serious captain-style look. The black-haired boy resisted the pressure of his sight and finished speaking with a smile on his face.
"Should we find a suitable place first before..."
P2
According to the plan, everyone should have found a hotel in the Imperial Capital and settled down first.
It should've been like this...
"I never thought that we would have been dealing with this kind of place when we first arrived here..."
Aker never thought that the first place he visited after entering the imperial capital turned out to be the headquarters building of the imperial defense bureau.
Now the four at a loss were following Marceau, walking towards the depths of the corridor.
They had just been checked for magic energy fluctuations with other passengers. Although they could leave here after the check, Aker had agreed to assist in the investigation, and now it was rude to break the agreement, so Aker decided to listen to Marceau's arrangements for the time being.
Lynn was the main person who suppressed the crowd at the time of the accident, and a lot of energy had been spent to suppress so many passengers. And now she was still being held by the Imperial Capital Defense Bureau, so she felt a little unhappy in her heart.
Feeling annoyed was one thing, but Aker was trying very hard to comfort her on the way here, making her embarrassed to take out her anger on Aker, so she could only puff up her checks and follow them.
Loulou and Venus didn't particularly mind, they just kept talking to each other in a lower voice behind everyone.
"I just went to briefly report the situation, our captain seems to be very interested in you, so now I will take you to her office."
The headquarters building of the Imperial Capital Defense Bureau did not give people a sense of tension and oppression. Unlike what Aker had imagined before, the atmosphere here was rather relaxed. From time to time, strangers would smile and greet Marceau and Aker's group.
"I know what you are thinking. People who have never come to the Imperial Capital Defense Bureau will have this kind of misunderstanding." Marceau who walked in front suddenly spoke to them, "our captain is a very casual person. In the past, I was also a little uncomfortable because of the slack atmosphere here. But under her leadership, the efficiency of the Imperial Defense Bureau has indeed improved a lot, so there is nothing wrong with it like this."
The room at the end of the corridor should be the office of the captain Marceau said. The appearance of the office door was no different from the others, except that there was an extra small animal-shaped door sign hung on the door.
"What is this?"
Except for Marceau, who had long been used to seeing the sign, no one else knew the meaning of this sign.
The small door decorated with flower-shaped patterns was written with four elegant words "Psychological Consultation". It made Aker think that probably only girls would write such elegant fonts.
'Does the captain of the Imperial Capital Defense Bureau also work as a part-time psychological instructor?' Everyone naturally had this kind of speculation in their minds.
Just when Lynn wanted to ask if Marceau had gone the wrong way, Marceau knocked on the door.
"Please come in."
A mature female voice came from it.
Loulou and Venus stopped whispering to each other, and they all showed a serious appearance. On the way just now, they had probably only used the chat to ease the nervousness in their hearts.
"Don't be so nervous."
Marceau glanced at them, then opened the door for them.
What appeared in front of them was a counseling room they had imagined. The desk was full of file folders. From the desk to the wall, and all the way to the screen, it gave off a serious feeling.
But the layout of the office was like a reception room everywhere.
A woman with light green waist-length hair and waist-length was filling with something on a small counter placed against the wall, and the aroma of black tea filled the room.
"Captain, I brought all four people here, then?"
Marceau briefly reported to the woman. The woman stopped what she was holding and turned around.
"So beautiful……"
Lynn gave Aker who blurted this out a sharp twist on his back, making Aker confused why she was doing it.
"Thank you," the captain put down the teapot in her hand, showing a beautiful, mature smile that was different from that of a young girl, "can you please check other passengers as well? Klein won't be able to handle it alone."
"I can do it. But..." Marceau scratched his head reluctantly. "Does it count as overtime?"
'Can the work of the Imperial Defense Bureau be negotiated like this?' 'Is this really the core department of the Bice Empire?'
"You can have a cup of tea here when you have time."
"Sure!"
This kind of condition actually made Marceau seem satisfied to take over the job! Aker probably knew what was going on with people who needed "psychological counseling."
After Marceau left the room, only Aker and his party were left in the room now.
