At noon, I went to see Fei Fei tremblingly, and was mocked for being weak...
But in the book of Level of Affection, I finally saw that Yang Jiahui’s Level of Affection was over 70. I was not sure if it was because of the interaction after school yesterday or because of the ice bite today...
After telling Shen Qing, she immediately urged me to reload the game.
She didn’t even let me finish having fun in the school celebration...
So, the time went back to last Wednesday. This time I decided not to recommend Xingyuan Bakery to the student council. As expected, Yang Jiahui had no relevant memory. The Level of Affection also dropped to 30 again...
But as long as I thought of the hard work that I had made in the past few days, I couldn’t help but feel sad...
Without Yang Jiahui and Bai Qingyue, the plot was very simple. I also found a suspicious place - Lin Liyu's Level of Affection, which would neither increase nor decrease.
"Are you sure you read it right? It didn’t change at all?"
Shen Qing also couldn't believe it.
"Of course, although I haven’t asked her out yet... But isn't it strange that there is no change of her affection level at all?"
"Her Level of Affection is incredibly high. Isn't this the strangest thing?"
"Is she the Awakened AI, who has an inexplicable affection for players like Ying?..."
"There are not many examples of this, so I can’t confirm. Anyway, try to interact with her more and find a chance to ask her out."
Since Lin Liyu and I were childhood sweethearts and at the same table, there were quite a few opportunities to improve her Level of Affection. Especially when I knew that her Level of Affection towards me was 80, I also had a lot of confidence in my heart.
Lin Liyu was a convsertive girl with a docile personality, similar to the original Ying…
Ordinary conversations would not improve Lin Liyu's Level of Affection, and I couldn't find her after school. She seemed to have been picked up by her family.
As a result, after a few days of fruitless work, the time came to the Tuesday of the third week. It was the school celebration time. This time, only Lin Liyu invited me. The project she invited me to go to was the activity of our own class - haunted house.
There was no haunted house in the school. The classmates had transformed the remote corner of the basement of the laboratory building that had been abandoned for many years.
It took a lot of effort to clean the basement, even though the old pianos, big clocks, sofas, bookcases, etc. that had been stored in it had not been removed. These old stuff did not hinder us from dressing up, but instead made the haunted house more distinctive.
Speaking of a haunted house, there must be no ghosts. Regarding this, a few brave classmates dressed up as ghosts to hide inside, waiting for the opportunity to jump out to scare people.
"It's very boring, I am not interested."
Shen Qing holding a one-meter long bear doll stood not far from the door. She didn't even glance at the carefully prepared haunted house.
By the way, the bear was won by her in the Bai Qingyue class's "Question Answering Contest".
"If I remember correctly, you said the same before answering the question..."
"That is the exception."
"Aren't you afraid of ghosts?"
"Ugh, you are so annoying. I'm not a coward like you, I said it is very boring!"
Her reaction was a bit too big. Clearly, I was right, and she was scared of ghosts!
"Are you sure? Everyone worked so hard to build this haunted house, you really don’t want to try it?"
“I said no!”
She even turned her head away.
Suddenly I felt someone walk up to me and poked my shoulder.
"Uh……"
It was Lin Liyu who poke my shoulder, which gave me an ominous premonition...
"... This is the first time I play in a haunted house... I'm a little scared, can I hold your hand?"
‘Hold... Hold my hand?’
This was not impossible. Normal people would not refuse it, if there was no other 'real girlfriend' next to him...
"Huh? It's the first time for me to enter the haunted house as well. He said he will stay with me!"
Of course, Ying also heard Lin Liyu's words. She grabbed my hand and stared at Lin Liyu hostilely...
"Uh... Classmate Shi, did you forget the promise you made when we were still kids..."
‘A promise I made when we were still kids? Is there such a thing? I don't remember at all. Actually, I don’t have such a memory.’
"We were only 6 years old at that time. I was crying in a dark abandoned warehouse. You said you would protect me..."
"What! When did this happen? Why haven’t I heard you mention this before? What is going one? Am I not your-”
Ying’s reaction made me realize that this was very bad. I quickly picked up the bundle of free lollipops next to her and stuffed it into her mouth. ...
"Hmm..."
Ying temporarily stopped talking because of the lollipop in her mouth.
"I'm sorry, Lin Liyu. It was a long time ago, so I didn’t remember it now."
"...It doesn't matter."
Lin Liyu was silent for a while before shaking her head. Seeing her dispirited look, I felt very guilty...
"Since Ogiso is also afraid, let's go in together."
‘Hey? Is this even okay?’
"Ying, just do as she said, after all, it's for the task..."
——Under my repeated persuasion, Ying finally agreed to a request to enter the haunted house. I hope this behavior wouldn't attract Awakened AI's attention...
P7
To be honest, this basement was really suitable for a haunted house. It was dark and dilapidated. It smelt full of decay, and there was even a mysterious noise that seemed to be caused by the broken electric wires.
"Woo--"
"What, what sound is that—"
Lin Liyu clutched my hand tightly, and the sweat that came out wetted my palm.
"……I do not know……"
Even if I had played horror games before, I still didn’t feel good. The fear of the dark and unknown in people’s hearts was hard to eliminate——
"Huh? What sound is that?"
Holding my hand tightly, Ying's tone had no fear at all—just curiosity.
They were both AIs, but Lin Liyu showed the state of the girl in fear to the fullest, but Ying was not scared at all; she was just curious about the cry of the 'ghost'.
"Classmate Ogiso, are you not scared at all?"
This was not good. Lin Liyu was starting to feel strange about her calmness!
The earlier incident was already very dangerous. If this continoused, our mission would definitely be exposed.
"Student Ogiso probably often walks at night, she is immune to this level of horror."
"...Is that so?"
This far-fetched excuse temporarily dispeled Lin Liyu's doubts.
At this moment, a light bulb above us began to flicker, as if it was about to break.
"...Why is there a breathing sound… is it you?"
Lin Liyu asked with a hint of surprise.
"Breathing sound? No, it wasn’t me."
I could guarantee that I didn’t make any sound, and Ying over there didn’t seem too scared.
Then...
"Hiss--"
"Wah.. Who is it!"
Lin Liyu almost started crying.
"Huh? There are people over there!"
Ying, who had been looking left and right curiously, said while looking at the dark classroom with the door open not far from us...
Squeak--
The door in the distance opened.
Lin Liyu held my hand tightly.
"...There is really a ghost! Run!"
What came out of it was a classmate in our class whose name was NPC1. It was actually not his name. I just couldn’t remember what he was called.
NPC1 stumbled out of the classroom and told us to leave while running.
"Eh? How could there be ghosts? Obviously they are all fake?"
——The developers of "The Story Of Cherry Blossoms" were probably staunch atheists, so the heroine Ying didn’t feel the slightest fear at this situation.
"I mean, can we leave here?"
And Lin Liyu was really about to cry now...
"But if we don't go through the haunted house, there will be no reward. It will be very boring?" Ying asked her back.
"This……"
Lin Liyu wanted to leave, but Ying wanted to finish exploring the haunted house.
“！”
The flashing light went out, and the surroundings plunged into darkness.
"--Ah!"
Lin Liyu already reached the limit of fear. She let go of my hand, turned, and ran towards the entrance screaming!
"Wait!"
I want to run after Lin Liyu, her situation was a bit strange. Her reaction was too extreme.
"—There are only two of us now, Yuan."
However, my hand was held by Ying.
The faint light from the entrance shone on the side of Ying’s face, making half of her face hidden in the darkness. I didn’t know why the little angel in front of me was more like a real ghost than the person who pretended to be a ghost... After all, her eyes became dim again.
"I think we should leave..."
"No, let's continue walking through this haunted house."
"……Okay."
The main reason I agreed was because of Ying's performance... also very strange.
Compared with the potential danger, Ying’s threat was really what I had experienced. I had a hunch that if I chased after Lin Liyu, Ying would destroy the world...
Anyway, the little angel holding the horn of destruction took my hand and walked towards the depths of the haunted house...

"—There is no sound anymore."
After a while, Ying finally said something, but it made me notice that there was indeed no sound for a while. Compared with the strange sounds just now, the ominous feeling brought by the silence was everywhere...
"Buzz..."
At this moment, I heard a sound like radio noise coming from the door at the end. If I remembered correctly, it should be an abandoned dance classroom...
"It’s very suspicious. Yuan, let's go have a look?"
Because of Ying, I was not that afraid , but in my heart, I already planned to go back.
"No, I think we should go back..."
"Why? Yuan, Are you... scared?"
I could even feel the confusion on Ying's face when she said the word scared. This made me think that I would probably need to explain to Ying why people feel scared...
Anyway, I was pulled toward the room by Ying. Inside, it was pitch black.
"Where is the light?"
Ying was groping the wall, looking for the switch.
‘Huh? There seems to be something. Very pale…’
"Ying… look there… Is it a face?"
"What are you talking about, there is no one there?"
‘Huh? Was I seeing things?’
"Hehe~~"
Just when I chuckled bitterly, I heard a hollow sneer.
"Die~~"
The white thing leaped directly at me——
"Ah!"
The sudden shock made my mind go blank! I yelled and fell to the ground due to an unstable center of gravity. Then I saw what was in front of me--
"It’s you!"
"Hahahaha — idiot! I scared you!"
The white, noisy creature in front of me had long silver-coloured pigtails and was wearing a delicate Chinese style dress. I couldn’t be more familiar with this girl.
There was no doubt that it was Fei Fei!
"... scared?"
Thinking that I was scared because of Fei Fei just now, I had the urge to tear her apart with my own hands...
"I've been scaring people in this place, but there were too few people who came here to be scared by me in the past. I don't know what happened today. A lot of people have come here. I am really happy~ Ow! Don't pull my hair! It hurts!"
"Since you are bored, I will play with you."
"Let go first! It hurts!"
"I will not let go."
I grabbed her pigtails one in each hand, almost lifting her up—
"Yuan, what are you doing?"
Probably the switch was finally found by Ying, and the room was suddenly lit up.
No wonder there were shadows flashing. It turned out that in this dance room, there were big mirrors on the wall on four sides. Turning this kind of room into a haunted house was indeed very scary.
"What just happened, I heard you yelling. And who are you talking to?"
Ying couldn't see Fei Fei. In her eyes, I was talking to the air. Naturally, she would think that I was acting very strangely.
"Oh, there is a ghost here."
I put down Fei Fei's hair and patted the dust on my body.
"Huh? Is there really a ghost? Where is it?"
"Well, it's right here, but only I can see it."
I pointed at the air with my left finger. There was Fei Fei who was angry because her hair was grabbed by me.
"So there is a ghost here now?"
Ying opened her eyes wide and looked at where I was pointing, her face full of confusion.
"Let go of me!"
Fei Fei jumped up and down, trying to kick me, but I simply put my hand on her head and pressed her down.
"You quiet. By the way, she did the light bulb flickering and electric noise just now were all caused by her."
"It's amazing, how do you call this ghost?"
"Why do I need to tell you!" Fei Fei snorted and cocked her chin in a sulky manner.
"Fei Fei."
"Miss Fei Fei. I'm Yuan's girlf-"
I suddenly covered Ying's mouth.
If this sentence was heard by Fei Fei, it would be very bad.
"I told you not to reveal your identity--"
I leaned to Ying's ear and reminded her in a low voice. Until I saw Ying nodding, I let go of my hand that was covering her mouth.
"She is just my classmate.”
"I don’t care about that. Have you brought today's cake?"
This silly kid didn't seem to understand the meaning of the conversation between me and Ying. She was just thinking of cakes all over her head.
"Yes, I'll give it to you later."
"Huh, that's good."
After that, I heard the classmates outside calling us. It seemed that we had been in the haunted house for a long time, it had caused the people outside to become nervous.
"What happened in the basement?"
When we got to the first floor, Lin Liyu and the students who organized the event surrounded us anxiously. I randomly made up an excuse like the old equipment was making the strange sounds to cover up the existence of Fei Fei.
"Don't leave after school, I have something to tell you."
Lin Liyu whispered to me suddenly after I explained to everyone that there were no real ghosts.
