The morning sun shined through the curtains into the room, and Aker woke up in the warm bed.
Opening his sleepy eyes, he looked around.
In the dim-lit room, two beds were placed side by side. On the bedside table between the two beds, the potted plant that originally seemed to be placed on the windowsill was now moved here. The flowers with six purple petals were still in full bloom today, bringing familiar faint fragrance to this not-so-large room.
The girl with her golden hair spread out breathed calmly on the opposite bed.
In a daze, Aker felt something moving around next to him, so he turned his head to look aside.
The cheeks with a faint smile appeared in front of him, and the long sky-blue hair curled up slightly with her light breath.
"Oh, it's Loulou... It's still too early, and I should go back to sleep..."
Aker closed his eyes facing the ceiling again, and the darkness before him returned.
“……”
Only even breathing remained in the room.
"How am I supposed to fall asleep in this way!"
Aker opened his eyes suddenly. As long as he understood the current situation, no boy could continue to sleep peacefully.
Holding back the fiercely beating heart in his chest, he broke free from the slender arms that were holding his waist tightly with the strength that would not awaken Loulou and left the room lightly after getting dressed.
As a result, Lynn did not appear at the dining table in the hotel restaurant. She knew that Loulou and Aker slept in the same bed last night.
While eating breakfast, Loulou asked inadvertently why Aker didn't wake them up. He just used the excuse that he wasn't used to the unfamiliar room and woke up too early to fool her.
…………
After Loulou and Aker had breakfast together in the hotel restaurant, they returned to their room with Lynn's breakfast.
Loulou lay listlessly on the bed, Loulou walked to her bed and sat down.
"Elder Sister Lynn, you are awake, right?"
“……”
"What's the matter? I know you are not sleeping. Is it because you have a bad appetite and don't want to eat breakfast?"
“……”
Lynn still didn't answer, she just buried her face in the pillow and rubbed it left and right.
“……”
Loulou put her hand on Lynn's waist and tickled it gently.
"Pff... Haha...hahaha! Stop it! Hahaha..."
This was a method that Aker often used when Loulou refused to get up from the bed when she was a child.
No matter how strong Lynn's endurance was, she still couldn't resist the physiological reaction. She could only try to hold back the urge to laugh and try to escape Loulou's claws.
Seeing that Lynn could no longer hide, Loulou finally stopped. Lynn became a lot more energetic after the play.
It was probably not that she was not fully awake, nor did she not have an appetite. Although Loulou knew this, she didn't carry on asking Lynn.
"Go take a shower first." At least on the surface, Lynn no longer looked listless. She got up from the bed. "If that guy can't find a way to make money, we will live on the streets. We should enjoy it while we still can."
"Do you assume that my elder brother will definitely fail..."
"This is called live for the moment. Loulou, do you want to take a shower with me?"
"Mhm."
The two girls walked into the bathroom together, and they chatted and laughed behind the frosted glass door.
The gloomy scene a few minutes ago seemed to have never existed.
Part 6
Aker stopped in front of the only pub in the town.
So far, he had not found a shop that needed to recruit temporary employees, so now he has come to the central area from the outskirts of the town.
After he inquired all the way, this was the most popular place in this town, and it would get crowded every night. This pub was only run by a proprietress and a middle-aged man. Since it was a place with so many customers, it should be short of staff, right? This was what Aker thought.
Pushing open the door of the pub, what greeted Aker was a languid feeling.
It was still daytime, and there were only a few customers in the pub. A middle-aged man in a wide-brimmed leather hat dressed in awkward beachwear and slippers was sitting in front of the bar and drinking something that was probably some kind of alcohol.
And another woman who was wearing a wine-red cheongsam, who seemed to be about 20 years old, was also holding a glass in her hand, resting her head and arms on the bar counter with an indecent gesture and saying something to the middle-aged man.
Noticing that someone came in, the middle-aged man turned his head and looked at the door, while the woman didn't seem to notice the visitor at all.
"Hmmm, who is the boss here..."
Aker was overwhelmed by this mature atmosphere that he had never experienced, so his tone was a little nervous.
The man put down the glass in his hand and walked over. He pointed the woman behind him with his thumb.
"That woman is the boss, but she's completely drunk now. You can talk to me, and I will pass the message."
Only after the middle-aged man stood in front of Aker, did Aker see the burly middle-aged man clearly.
He was a head taller than Aker, his resolute face was clearly defined like it was carved out by a knife, and his voice was very deep. He didn't give off a drunk feeling that a normal drunkard would have.
Standing under the intimidating gaze of the middle-aged man, Aker felt that she was even a little breathless. However, Aker did not show it but forced a friendly smile.
"Actually, I want to find a temporary job here. My friends and I only came to this small town yesterday, but we lost all our travel expenses on the way, so I hope to find a job that can earn some travel money."
After listening, the middle-aged man grinned, and the pressure that Aker had felt disappeared suddenly.
He raised his large palm and patted Aker on the back mercilessly.
"Very good! I'm also new here, you can come to relieve my boredom, it's very good!"
"Ahem...Thank you for welcoming me, but don't you need to ask the proprietress over there first?"
"Don't worry about her, she won't mind it to have one more staff! Come over and have a drink with me!"
"I'm sorry, I'm still underage..."
"What does it matter? As long as no one knows about it!" The middle-aged man pushed Aker to the bar, took out a glass and filled Aker with a light yellow drink, and pushed it in front of him, "You won't become a man if you don't drink!"
"If that's the case, then... Wait, no! That's not how it works, right?!"
Because it was really difficult to refuse his enthusiasm, Aker had to take a sip from the glass, a spicy burning feeling instantly rushed to his throat.
——he felt that if he worked here, there would be a lot of troublesome problems...
…………
It seemed that it was just a moment, but Aker didn't realize that after drinking that glass of alcohol, he was overwhelmed by alcohol.
"Get up! Who allowed you to touch my alcohol!"
Not knowing how long he had slept, Aker was awakened by an angry shout. He raised his aching head in a daze.
The pub bar counter in front of me was the bar counter that he had only seen not long ago. The woman in the red dress who had been asleep was completely awake now and was twisting the middle-aged man's ears fiercely. It was just that the middle-aged man was still sleeping soundly, showing no signs of getting up as if he was not affected by it at all.
"So, who are you?"
The red-dressed woman finally moved her attention away from the middle-aged man and looked at Aker.
The windows that had been closed in the pub were now open. As the cool breeze blew past, Aker's drunk mind became a little soberer. He quickly got up from his seat and greeted the proprietress of this pub.
"My name is Aker and I am a traveler. I want to stay and work in your pub. That uncle said before that you will agree, so he let me stay here and wait. "
"Okay, my name is Nia. This is my pub."
"Thank you!"
"But I won't pay you."
"Thank...Wait what!" Aker finally reacted, "Why? !”
Nia pointed to a few empty bottles lying on the table.
"Did you drink it too? Even if you don't want to stay to work, I will force you to stay and work to pay back the money."
"So that's why he is so sure that you will allow me to stay here!"
Aker's mind went blank for a while.
"That man is the same as you. Just call him Gurley. That's what he told me." Nia glanced at the middle-aged man who was sleeping on the bar counter, "He smashed a bottle of my treasured good wine when he first came here, so he is now working here to pay off debts just like you."
—— Are you serious! Aker cursed the middle-aged man named Gurley countless times in his mind and then turned to Nia.
"Can you provide me a place to live as well? Any place is fine because now I don't even have money to live in the hotel."
"There is a warehouse underground, it’s cold in winter and hot in summer, so you can live there with him." Nia pointed to the corner stairs, "I will give you another task, keep eyes on him, and don’t let him drink all my wines! If I do it well, I can consider reducing the amount of your debt. What do you think?"
Aker had no other choice but to agree. It seemed that he would need to spend some time in an underground warehouse that was hot in winter and cool in summer.
Although he would be worried if he couldn't see Loulou and Lynn at night, nothing bad would happen in such a peaceful town.
"Ah! Miss Nia, can you advance part of my pay first? "At this moment, Aker remembered that he had to pay back the fee he owed to the old man in the hotel. "Can this money be added to the amount of debt repayment?"
"The debtor actually wants to borrow money from the creditor? Little brother, I didn't expect you to be this bold."
As expected of a businessman, Nia saw through Aker's intentions at a glance. In desperation, Aker had no choice but to tell Nia about his tragic experience.
After she heard the story, Aker did not know whether she sympathized with him or wanted to refuse. After thinking for a few seconds, she suddenly made an unexpected suggestion.
"You still have two girls over there, right? Just let them live here. There is no problem for two more people to live in my room. As long as you stay here and work hard, I won't charge their rent."
Part 7
"...That's it. What do you think?"
Aker was still in the corridor of the hotel, sitting with his back against the door. With the previous experience, he didn't rush into the girls' room anymore, but relayed Nia's idea to them across the door in the corridor. Although it was embarrassing to let other guests hear it, Aker didn't have much time to worry about those problems now.
The room seemed to be quiet for a while. Then there were several inexplicable noises, and Aker hurriedly stood up.
"What's the matter? what happened?"
"It's nothing, you can wait a little longer."
Lynn's answer came from the room, sounding as energetic as usual. Aker was relieved and sat down with his back against the door again.
After a while, the door behind him was suddenly opened without warning, and Aker fell on his back under gravity.
Behind the door was Lynn holding the doorknob. Because of the angle of the fall, Aker caught a glimpse of the pure white lace under Lynn's short skirt.
Lynn, who reacted immediately, blushed with tears and pressed her skirt, raised her foot, and stepped on Aker's face without mercy.
"Ow, ow, ouch—this is an accident!"
Aker got up from the ground while enduring the pain, but then he was immediately attracted by Lynn's new outfit.
Although it was the first time to choose clothes for girls other than his little sister, he...or Tara's choice was unexpectedly good.
The beige knitted jacket and plaid skirt perfectly showed Lynn's slender figure hidden in the dark robe before.
"Hey, can you stop gawking at me like this..."
The awe-inspiring Lynn actually hugged her chest with her hands, and took a step back timidly.
"Elder Brother……"
"I, I'm sorry!"
Feeling that Loulou, who was standing behind Lynn, exuded a chaotic aura, Aker quickly removed his eyes from Lynn's body.
Then he noticed that next to Lynn, there was a dark green suitcase that he had never seen before.
"This is?"
"Ah, this suitcase was given to us by the big sister we met at the entrance of the hotel. She said that she was about to end her work here, and that this suitcase was of little use to her, so she gave it to us who happened to be at the counter."
Loulou got out from behind the box and interrupted.
"Tara? Is she leaving? When I chatted with her before, she told me that she would stay here to work for some time."
"I don't know the details, but that's what she told us."
"Oh... let's leave her business aside for the time being. Anyway, it's better to have a suitcase than nothing. Having said that, don't you need to think about it again? After all, a pub is a place for work, and there are all kinds of people there, and the environment may be different from what you think."
Lynn turned her back to Aker, fiddling her hair with her fingers hanging on the side of her cheek, and urged Aker in a reluctant tone.
"It doesn't matter, I just need to follow you. Anyway, I'm just an outsider, I don't have the right to pick and choose..."
"Now you are our friend, right? Don't treat yourself as an outsider."
"You are so annoying. Just hurry up!"
Lynn said with a flushed face, and then quickly walked past Aker and disappeared into the stairwell.
"Elder Sister Lynn is just very grateful that you have been caring for her, despite we just met not long ago."
"If she is grateful, can't she just say thank you?"
"Elder Brother, you are such an idiot..."
The old man with a white beard was still standing behind the counter on the first floor. He smiled kindly at Aker who was about to leave.
"How was your evening, young man. Alas, young people are truly energetic."
"No... Last night was an accident..."
Aker could only smile helplessly, it seemed that the bed-sharing incident last night had been spread throughout the hotel through someone.
