Xing Yun didn't sleep well this night. Whenever he closed his eyes, the image of the senior sister named Xing Ya would come to his mind.
Don't get the wrong idea, the scene that stuck in Xing Yun's mind was the scene of this senior sister talking to herself on and on and on... The endless self-talk was a Buddhist monk chanting in his mind continuously.
Headache!
So when Fairy Yun Xia kicked the door open the next day morning while talking like some ruffian, what she saw was Xing Yun already dressed up and ready to go.
"Little girl, it's time to get up, I, your elder sister- blimey! You are that excited?"
Pointing to his dark circles under his eyes, Xing Yun assumed a look as if he had given up the desire to live.
After simply retelling what happened last night with Fairy Yun Xia, this elder sister's first reaction was truly worthy of her name as a hooligan.
"Saw Xing Ya that little girl naked? Hey, no wonder, little girl how many times did you do it? Although I, your elder sister, am not opposed to your handling of personal issues, I still have to tell you that it will hurt your vitality... You are still young..."
"Hey, hey, do you know what the word manner means? I'm only six years old!"
"Tsk, I, your elder sister, am not illiterate." throwing back her shoulders, Fairy Yun Xia was so proud of herself, "but I, your sister, am always 17 years old, so talking dirty fits my age."
Tilted his head and thought, Xing Yun continued to give up his desire to live. "You are really planning to behave like a female hooligan, right? And it is the one who doesn't want their face."
Tilting her head as well, Fairy Yunxia thought for a moment, then smiled like a flower: "Little girl, you understand her elder sister quite well. Don't forget to flip my token later on." (TN: In ancient China, emperors would flip a token that has a concubine's name on it amongst many other tokens to choose who they would want to sleep with that evening. Although here, it means that to flip a token to choose an acting master, it can be interpreted in many ways.)
Xing Yun: “……”
The tool used for the journey was still the blue sky sword. Its emerald-like color seemed to carry endless stars. It was fascinating no matter how many times one saw it.
"Like this sword? If you flip my token, I'll..."
"Hey, hey, hey, female hooligan, can you pay attention to what you say? You are my Seventh Martial Uncle! And I'm only five years old!"
"Tsk, May-December Romance is not uncommon in the cultivation world. So what, if you are six years old? Your old turtle egg master took his little junior sister's first kiss when he was five years old."
“……”
"Then he was beaten up by the senior sister who had a crush on him so badly that he looked like a donkey ball in the end."
“……”
"Then he was picked on by the senior brother who had a crush on the Senior Sister for thirty years."
Xing Yun continued to "..."
"In the end, the master came out and appointed him as the next leader of the Shang Qing Sect on the grounds of 'having the demeanor of this old man in the old days.'"
Xing Yun felt that the only thing he could do at this moment was to remain silent.
So after saying it for a long time, it turned out that there was really not a single normal person in Shang Qing Sect, and this was also the continuation of the tradition. Colloquially speaking, it meant that not only did the older generations of Shang Qing Sect didn't set a good example, but they even wanted the younger generations to carry this glorious tradition.
'What is wrong with these people!'
Leaning in Fairy Yun Xia's arms, as soon as he finished complaining about this, he suddenly thought of something.
"Er... Martial Uncle, that little Junior Sister you mentioned... is it not you, is it?"
"I know that you would ask this. How could it be this old woman," She patted on the head of Xing Yun lightly, as if she liked Xing Yun's intelligence, "I, your sister, had not been born at that time. Besides, even if I give that old turtle egg ten courage, you think he dares to come to take the first kiss of the old woman? He would luck if I didn't beat him to death."
Yes, this was so Fairy Yun Xia.
So now there was a conclusion, which seemed to be the truth. It was that this fairy sister may have never been in love because of her hot temper. It was really tragic.
It didn't take long before the two of them arrived at one of the many palaces with the flying sword. Unlike seeing them from a distance, close observations made Xing Yun feel the unparalleled shock.
The solemn feeling it gave out rushed toward his face, and waves of wonderful music faintly sounded in his ears, just by standing on the square in front of the door, the fatigue of staying up all night seemed to be instantly dispelled by an invisible power.
"This is the side hall. Generally, the Supreme Elders and the elders will be discussing matters here. Okay, let's go."
When she was speaking, Fairy Yun Xia had already suppressed the hooligan spirit in her body.
Arriving before the door, the door slowly opened on its own. The first thing Xing Yun saw was the endless darkness. This chaotic darkness was very different from the sacred and solemn realm outside. The only thing he could feel was the faintly terrifying atmosphere inside.
It was the feeling gave off by the powerful cultivators.
As Fairy Yun Xia stepped into the darkness, the door behind her suddenly closed.
Immediately afterwards, the light suddenly lit up, and the originally pitch-black environment was brightened by the soft light.
This was a large empty room, seemingly without an end. In front of the two of them, there were only a dozen chairs laying out in an arc, and the people sitting on the chairs were the higher-ups of Shang Qing Sect.
Fairy Yun Xia left Xing Yun and sat on the seventh seat from the left. There were still a few vacancies in other positions, not knowing if those people were troubled by other matters and unable to be there, or they had already...
Suddenly, the middle-aged man at the end opened his eyes. It was not an illusion. Xing Yun clearly saw the light from his eyes when he opened his eyes.
That essence of light instantly shot deep inside the space, disappearing into the endless space.
"Dumbass! What are you doing! ?”
“……”
Fairy Yun Xia, who was glared at by Yun Dan, sat back to her original position honestly after cursing.
At this time, the middle-aged man slowly stood up.
"Er... I will say a few words first?"
With the standard leadership opening remarks and the special style of clothing, Xing Yun could almost tell the identity of this person - the current sect leader of Shang Qing sect, Taoist Master Xing He.
"First of all, I'd like to welcome little junior... sister to join the big family of Shang Qing Sect. Then you can choose the acting master now. After that, I need to fix the door. "
After really just speaking just a few words, he simply sat down.
Pausing awkwardly when calling him was basically a sign that showed that everyone here knew his true gender. That was great, if the senior leaders were clear about his true identity, at least, it meant that they were prepared to restore his identity as a man in the future.
Yun Dan was still as calm as before. All the acting master candidates must first introduce themselves, so as the oldest person here, he was naturally the first person to introduce himself.
"Xing Yun, did you meet that little girl Xing Ya yesterday?"
Xing Yun nodded.
"Then... it is up to you."
Congratulations to the supreme elder Yun Dan for being the first one that was disqualified.
The first and third places were vacant, so the second one to introduce himself was the Fourth Martial Uncle of Xing Yun.
He was a burly man with a lot of muscles. The originally loose Taoist robe was like a skintight dress on his body, and the outline of his bulging muscles could be seen through the clothes. Naturally, his voice was also loud like thunder; even if he was far away from Xing Yun, the sound still made Xing Yun unable to stand still.
"I'm-"
"Will you die if you lower your voice! ?” Fairy Yun Xia shouted.
"Oh, I'm your Fourth Martial Uncle. You have delicate skin and look very fragile. You won't be able to learn anything useful from me, so I think it is better to choose someone else." Scratching his head for a moment, he added another sentence before sitting down, "Little girl, if you want a magic weapon, just come to me. I don't have other things, but I have no shortage of weapons."
Xing Yun gritted his teeth and nodded.
Even if this martial uncle lowered his voice, it still almost sent Xing Yun flying.
The next one was fifth.
Chapter 8 Master Selection Ceremony
"This old man is your fifth Martial Uncle."
The old man shook the calabash in his hand, and used his magic weapon to tell Xing Yun his specialty - selling drugs, no, refining medicinal pills.
"I am your Sixth Martial Uncle. I am better at talisman formation spells. If you are interested in this aspect, you can come to me."
"Choose me, choose me, choose me, choose me..."
"I'm the old twelfth. You little girl's foundation is too weak. You can come to me when you are strong enough. Then I will teach you how to use one hand to defeat people like the Old Fourth."
"I, I am your fifteenth martial uncle...I, I..."
With a slap on her forehead, Fairy Yun Xia interrupted No.15's self-introduction.
"Stutter can shut up--she is your fifteenth martial uncle, responsible for all the financial-related matters of Shang Qing sect, I guess you will not be interested in these numbers. Skip."
"Um...I, I still..."
"Shut your mouth!" x7
Xing Yun: "..." Didn't people say that after the thunder tribulation cultivator would be able to improve their physical condition greatly? ？ Couldn't it fix the stuttering problem?
However, although Xing Yun felt speechless, he still noticed something.
It was that these martial uncles seemed to be more or less trying to hint at him that they were not suitable for him, and he shouldn't choose them.
Combining the self-introduction of everyone just now, Xing Yun seemed to understand something.
"Don't you feel shameful for doing such a shady practice?"
Fairy Yun Xia was not surprised that Xing Yun could discover that she was manipulating behind the scene.
Putting her hand on her chest, a gentle smile appeared on her face: "My chest is too big to feel such a thing as shame."
At that time, the face of the Sixth Martial Uncle who was next to her went dark. She lowered his head and glanced at her flat chest, her eyes suddenly looked away disappointingly.
——She was probably sighing why her physical development was so bad back then.
Everyone had heard of Xing Yun’s intelligence from Yun Dan and Yun Xia in the small internal meeting they had yesterday. Now that they saw him personally, it really made them feel that what Senior Brother Yun Qing said before leaving was correct.
'This little guy will definitely 'revitalize' the dull Shang Qing sect again.'
After the Supreme Elders introduced themselves, it was time for the next generation to introduce themselves. The people from the next generation that were present were only the sect leader named Xing He. As the leader, he managed everything of the sect every day, so originally Xing He wanted to skip this ceremony directly.
But what Xing Yun said next almost made him jump up from the chair and beg him for mercy.
"Speaking of, is Senior Brother Xing He a sword cultivator?"
"No, I'm not, I don't... I'm just a little sect leader who almost abandoned his cultivation practice..."
It was not that he was worried that it would hinder his work. He was mainly scared that the Supreme Grand Elder would be dissatisfied with his teaching results after returning and lock him up in solitary confinement.
He couldn't afford to disappoint them at all.
"Oh, then I will choose..."
"Choose me, choose me, choose me, choose me!"
"Okay, okay, I choose you. Apart from you, who else can I choose? If I chose someone else, you would definitely visit that person's cave with your kitchen knife."
What Xing Yun said seemed to be exactly what other people were thinking. While letting out a sigh of relief, the way they looked at Xing Yun also became tender and warm.
It is really a great blessing for Shang Qing Sect to have this child.
Xing Yun? Lucky? (lucky and Xing Yun are propounded the same in Chinese) Our sect is truly lucky!
"Little girl, how could you say that? Am I that kind of person? I am a very gentle..." Seeing the strange reactions of other people when they heard of her words, she smiled suddenly, "What? You guys have a problem with that? Don't agree with what I said?"
Everyone nodded.
"Hold it in!"
Everyone continued to nod.
In short, the Master Selection Ceremony that should've been serious and solemn ended in this weird atmosphere. Of course, it was not completely over yet, because as the acting master, Fairy Yun Xia must first ask for gifts from other people on behalf of her acting apprentice.
Xing Yun was thrown under the Sword Cliff when he just got into the sect, so it was time to ask for the meeting gift.
The stuttering the Fifteenth Elder was pretty clever at this time and made full use of her authority. She threw a bunch of essential items that one would get after joining the sect, such as female-style robes and elder-level identity token, into an interspatial pouch and gave it to Xing Yun. Originally, Yun Xia was very dissatisfied with this gift, until the Fifteenth Elder wrote this line on a cardboard: Double the monthly allowance as an elder.
It made Xing Yun wonder if this counts as embezzlement of public funds...
Yun Dan was the oldest person now, and the meeting gift he gave was naturally the most valuable thing - Spiritual Concentrating Wood, three kilograms.
This kind of thing could help the cultivator who needed to go through thunder tribulation to calm down and effectively reduce the probability of being eroded by the heart demon. It was a rare good treasure at the early stage of cultivation.
"Look at that. How generous! Three kilograms... Hey, hey, hey. It is two grams short! Do you want to be responsible for anything that happens to my lovely apprentice in the future! ?”
In the roar of Fairy Yun Xia, Yun Dan took out a basket from the interspatial pouch with a bitter expression.
"I'll give you another two kilograms!"
"I am not a greedy person. . Just two more grams would do!"
"You are really hard to please!"
Although he said so, Yun Dan still used a small scale to get her the missing portion.
The things given by the Fourth Elder didn't cause any complaint, and it could even be said that Fairy Yun Xia was particularly satisfied with it. This brawny man took out a large box made of gilt spiritual wood and inlaid with jade from the interspatial pouch. As he used the spell, the box was opened instantly.
The box was filled with women's clothing in a variety of colorful styles, ranging from bejeweled to simple dress, and size for all ages, from six to twenty-six. However, no matter how different their styles, sizes, and models were, they had one thing in common - these dresses were all top-grade magical items. Calculated in the currency of Spirit Stones, the starting price of any one of them would always be thousands of high-rank spirit stones at an auction house.
Fairy Yun Xia was so satisfied with these clothes that she even showed a rare friendly smile.
"Sewing so much in one night, it must be very hard for you."
"It's not hard. I just got poked by the needle quite many times. I will have to practice more in the future."
Xing Yun's face completely darkened at that time.
This was a picture of a muscular man over two meters tall holding an embroidery needle making clothes in his head at the moment.
What the Fifth gave was naturally a calabash of Spiritual Medicines. Yes, it was the calabash he shook before. Yun Xia didn't complain about him for being so stingy, because he couldn't give anything other than medicine...
The Sixth gave Xing Yun a stack of talismans, from Palm Thunder to Divine Thunder and Heavenly Retribution; basically, a lot of talismans with thunder spells. In addition to these, she also gave Xing Yun two boxes of paper books. Xing Yun couldn't release his Spiritual Sense at the moment. Had he already set foot on the path of cultivation, he would have received two jade slips in his hands.
Most of these books were about some common sense in the world of cultivators, for example, who he could not mess with, who he could beat up at will, and some of the practice experience of the Martial Uncles present when they just started their cultivation practice.
"Don't think too much, these things may be precious in other places, but in our Shang Qing Sect, all the inner sect disciples have the opportunity to read these things. You just don't have to work to earn merits in exchange for reading permissions."
When Fairy Yun Xia said that, the excitement in Xing Yun's heart... actually became even greater.
Chapter 9 Master Selection Ceremony
It was no wonder that Xing Yun had this kind of thought. Most sects regard cultivation experience and core techniques as secrets, and would even fight each other over a manual.
Not to mention that when finding an ownerless manual while exploring the secret realm. It really didn’t matter what was on the manual, people would kill the opponent who coveted the manual first.
It was already a fairly open-minded development model for Shang Qing Sect to disclose their cultivation experience to their disciples.
With this kind of mindset, it was no wonder that Shang Qing Sect would be this big.
So Xing Yun's excitement was actually caused by the fact that he has come to a sect with a very avant-garde and open-minded mindset. Although the higher-ups of this sect had some screws loose in their heads, with this kind of mindset alone, he could understand that fate really works in a mysterious way.
Old Seven, that was, Fairy Yun Xia’s meeting gift was skipped. Not to mention that she had already given it before, with the identity of acting master alone, she didn’t need to present any gifts. So the next turn was Old Twelve, which was the person who said that he was darn weak, and he would teach him and how to defeat some punks.
In fact, Old Twelve looked like a weak scholar, and he was dressed very much like a scholar who was immersed in Confucianism and Taoism.
But everyone who knew this Supreme Elder knew that this was just his appearance, and he was even more explosive than Fairy Yun Xia in terms of temper.
People with hot tempers naturally would do things very quickly and straightforward. Seeing that the things others gave were treasures, the gift he gave out wasn't shabby either. He directly stuffed a secret manual into Xing Yun's hands.
When Xing Yun was at the bottom of the sword cliff, he learned a lot of characters from his hut, but he still didn't know any of the characters on the cover of this small book.
Seeing the junior brother give out such a precious thing, not only Fairy Yun Xia was surprised, but the others were also the same.
"I mean, Old Twelve... isn't this one of your rarest manuals? It's not like you to be willing to take it out."
However, the response they got was a shower of curses and a lot of incomprehensible words until Fairy Yun Xia showed her kitchen knife, then he obediently turned his face aside, and murmured the truth: "I don't know the words on it..."
Everyone: “……”
As the "peer", the sect leader, Xing He didn't need to give gifts, but he still granted all the reading permissions of Wisdom Gathering Pavilion to Xing Yun as a gift.
Because he found that Xing Yun seemed to be very interested in things like books.
In short, this gift-giving ceremony ended successfully in such a harmonious atmosphere. Everyone left here with all kinds of strange excuses, as if they were afraid that Fairy Yun Xia would want to extort something from them.
Xing Yun originally planned to leave as well, but if Yun Xia didn't want to leave, he would not be able to leave. After all, he didn't recognize the way and couldn't fly.
When only Yun Xia and Xing Yun were left in this endless space, a human silhouette gradually appeared on the first seat.
Soon, the outline solidified, and the appearance of Sage Yun Qing clearly appeared in front of the two of them.
He stroked his long beard and satisfactorily looked at the Xing Yun that was also looking at him.
"Want to pluck this old man's beard? No way! This is a wisp of this old man's Divine Sense, you can't pluck it."
After a long silence, Xing Yun pointed to where Fairy Yun Xia was standing.
"Master, Martial Uncle Yun Xia is here."
"Well, this little girl really understands me." Sage Yun Qing actually turned to an empty place where there was nothing.
This old man really had glaucoma!
"Okay, don't play with us anymore, old-timer. Why do you want us to stay?"
Hearing this, Sage Yun Qing instantly returned to normal.
He was still looking at the disciple he had picked from the wild and then said lightly after a while: "Giving my little Yun'er the cultivation method."
After speaking, he came to Xing Yun with a serious face.
"Yun'er, do you know..."
"Can you speak more seriously? I feel nauseous when you call me that way."
"Oh, this old man wants to say that your constitution is very special. Because you need to accumulate a solid foundation in the initial stage, so this will cause your cultivation speed to be slower than ordinary disciples. After you have a solid foundation, you will..."
"So it is not that I don't have a Spiritual root and my Elixir Field isn't damaged; but no matter how slow my cultivation speed is, I still have to practice it, right?"
Sage Yun Qing nodded.
"Okay then. Give me the manual, I will take a look when I have time... By the way, are you serious about wanting me to dress up as a woman?"
Sage Yun Qing was quite surprised that Xing Yun could accept it so quickly, and of course, this reaction was quite normal. After all, Sage Yun Qing had not seen Xing Yun for six years, and this wisp of Divine Sense could only exist in this place. So seeing that no only Xing Yun's fine mentally, but he also looked very cute and very sensible, he was immediately satisfied with his careless action in the past.
"Due to your constitution, it has to be this way."
"Old man, can you not treat me as a fool? The core disciple under any mountain can suppress the chaos, and the senior brother in charge is a sword cultivator. Although I have never seen his disciple, I can imagine that his disciple..."
"His closed-door disciple is a girl." Fairy Yun Xia added such a sentence next to him.
"... Anyway, do you really think I would believe this crappy excuse? I am fine with the excuse of alleviating conflicts, but to besot those disciples? I am not the little fairies who specialize in seduction spells from the Hundred Temptresses Pavilion. Just tell me the truth, At least, this way, I can cooperate with you to the greatest extent."
As soon as the voice fell, the space fell so silent that the noise of a needle falling on the ground could be heard.
After a long time, Sage Yun Qing and Fairy Yun Xia laughed. The laughter was full of love for Xing Yun.
"Well, it's okay to tell you, It's just..."
"Just what?"
"It's just that I didn't expect you to look so cute after six years. This old man is a little looking forward to the day you grow up. I wonder what kind of a beauty you will become. Hahaha..."
For a moment, Xing Yun really wanted to jump over and pull the old man’s beard.
Comments
"The old man shook the calabash in his hand, and used his magic weapon to tell Xing Yun his specialty - selling drugs, no, refining medicinal pills." lmao
