【Thirteenth Day】
The concert was held in the theater in the town.
I didn't expect so many people to come before arriving at the venue.
“Classmates Gaocheng!”
The voice behind was...
"Classmate Yuchuan?"
Yuchuan Ying, wearing a white skirt and vintage leather shoes, was calling me...
Wait, why was Ying here? !
"Bantian is temporarily unable to watch the concert because he has something to do, so he gave me the two tickets he prepared and asked to watch the concert with classmate Gaocheng~"
She showed the 2 concert tickets in hand. Why did Bantian have two tickets? But fortunately, there were these two tickets, otherwise, I really didn’t know if I would be able to get a ticket with so many people here.
"Didn't classmate Bantian have been looking forward to this for a long time? Why does he suddenly have something to do?"
"It seems like he has a bad stomach..."
Ying thought for a while, and answered with some hesitation.
But this was not important to me, so I decided to forget him.
Watching a concert with Ying, It felt like... dating? She was wearing a skirt today, which looked a lot better than the cookie-cutter uniform. Of course, it did not mean that the uniform was ugly.
Leaving the crowded queue, we came to the seats.
It turned out to be a VIP seat ticket, which made me admire Bantian Yuaner even more.
"Never thought that the popular idol turned out to be a classmate from the same school. This is my happiest transfer..."
The voice of the enthusiastic fans was too loud, and I couldn't understand what Ying was saying...
"Ahhhh, Miss Shuiyuan!"
The audiences that were already noisy suddenly exploded with cheers--
On the stage, the black curtain slowly opened.
Shuiyuan Weina, in a light blue skirt and golden top, appeared in the golden spotlight.
Usually, her appearance was always obscured by long bangs and thick-framed eyes, which just gave people a scholarly feeling.
Today, her hairstyle and makeup have been carefully taken care of, and with this stunning appearance, even I who was used to seeing her was shocked for a while.
"Hello everyone, my name is Weina Shuiyuan, thank you for coming to my first concert today."
This appearance of her was different from the usual introversion or the emotional side of her, full of confident smiles.
It was really the first time I saw it.
"Miss Shuiyuan, I love you!"
Avid fans shouted her name.
This was bad. I was affected by this atmosphere, my hands were waving with the crowd...
"Miss Shuiyuan, you can do it!"
So, if the different heroines couldn't overlap, how could Ying cheer for Shuiyuan Weina here?
Maybe this was a special situation, or today was a special day? Anyway, I decided to stop thinking about this problem at the moment.
……
Before I knew it, the last song was already over.
"...Thank you very much for coming to my first concert."
It was a thank you speech at the end.
"Actually, during this period of time, I was under overwhelming pressure due to the preparation of the concert. Although I practiced every day, I was always afraid that I might fail, and I could not even sleep. I tried to escape the concert… but I, I finally had the courage to come here. Because, I know someone is supporting me. Just the day before, someone said to me that as long as you show your usual self, no matter what, everyone will always support me. At that time, I felt deeply touched... I want to thank everyone who supported me and the friend who encouraged me to come when I was desperate."
Finally, she smiled and said goodbye to everyone.
"Friends, it's a magical thing. I hope everyone cherishes those friends who you share your troubles and happiness with. Thank you!"
……
As she bowed and said goodbye, the curtain gradually fell.
Ying and most of the fans on the venue were still immersed in the high spirits brought by the lively atmosphere of the concert.
In this way, this concert was considered a success, right?
However, some things about Shuiyuan Weina have not yet been resolved.
I told Ying that I had something to deal with, and then walked toward the backstage alone. Probably because someone had already told them in advance, I was not stopped--
"Where did you go yesterday? Why didn't you say a word? Do you know that I have been looking for you for a long time?"
Sure enough……
“……”
Shuiyuan Weina's makeup hasn't been removed yet, she just sat on a chair, silently enduring a series of questions from her mother. When her daughter had just finished performances, it was the most tiring time. However, not only did she not comfort her, but she even questioned her...
"She was at my house yesterday."
When I said this sentence, I realized that it contained some ambiguous meaning. Shuiyuan Weina's face turned red all of a sudden...
"No, I didn't mean that, I mean I asked her to rest at my house after I found her, but I didn't do anything... This is not the point. The point is that her concert was successful. This time, she did it not because of you, Ms. Shuiyuan's order, she did it on her own will."
"What you mean is that the way I treated her hurt her?"
"No, I didn't mean that. Your strictness to her is undoubtedly for her better development in the future. It's just that you put too much pressure on her and sometimes prevents her from doing what she likes to do. Hasn't the incident this time proved this?"
"...What do you know... Since leaving that man, I have vowed to let Shuiyuan Weina live a happy life without relying on others."
What was happening here? Did she just suddenly start to narrate her past?
"In order to train her temperament, I used the compensation from the divorce to ask the teacher to train and pave the way for her, and drove her in a luxury car. I just want to make her understand that she needs to integrate into the society of the upper class in the future and become one of them."
"Maybe you are right. I was too strict with her and hurt her, but I did it for her happiness..."
"Wait a minute, I think your understanding of happiness is a bit biased. In fact, everyone's understanding of happiness is different. For Shuiyuan, the happiness she pursues may not be what you think. Perhaps you should ask her personal wishes."
"... Then, what kind of life do you want to live?"
She was silent for a while, then turned to ask her daughter.
"This is the first time mother asked me this question..."
Shuiyuan Weina had a bitter smile.
"Actually, I have always known mother's hard work, so I would rather live a regulated life than let mother worry about me because of this kind of things..."
What a sensible daughter.
"But mother never asked me what I really think. I really hope that mother will know what I really think! Every day I saw my classmates participate in club activities and go to the movies to work together. I was very envious. I hoped that I could be one of them, then I wouldn't need to go home to practice piano and sing... But for mother’s dream, I had to suppress my thoughts desperately and tell myself that it was wrong... Over time, I forgot what I had thought. What kind of life I really want."
She calmed down her emotion, and it was probably the first time that Ms. Shuiyuan saw her revealing such a character, she looked shocked.
"So, when mother ask me a question like that now, how am I able to answer it..."
"Weina..."
Ms. Shuiyuan covered her face with one hand, looking very tired...
"Classmate Shuiyuan wants to live a free life."
At this time, I helped her speak out.
"It’s not that classmate Shuiyuan really hates singing and concerts. It can be seen that her self-confidence and happiness in her performance come from the heart. The reason she wanted to escape is that she couldn’t bear the pressure from her mother... If you can give her some freedom, I believe she will perform better than before… just like today's performance."
“Student Gaocheng ……”
Ms. Shuiyuan put down her hand and looked directly at Shuiyuan Weina.
"...I see, Weina, I've probably been wrong all this time, I will let you do your own thing...I just hope that the result of this will make your life better, and you won't regret it in the future. ."
"Mother... is this true?"
Shuiyuan Weina asked her mother carefully.
"I will keep my words. By the way, your performance today is really good."
"...Thank you mother! I won't regret it!"
——It was probably a happy ending, right? Although I didn’t know whether Shuiyuan Weina’s future was bright or mediocre, whether he would become a star or a girl who was addicted to games...
But at least it could end now-
"By the way, I still have something to say to Classmate Gaocheng."
"What...what is it?"
My heart beat faster, and suddenly I had an unknown premonition.
"Mother, can we say a few words alone?"
She turned to Ms. Shuiyuan, and Ms. Shuiyuan agreed to her request and left the room.
She fiddled with her fingers nervously.
"Thank you Classmate Gaocheng for what happened in the past few days. Without you, I might have collapsed now… it would’ve been impossible for this successful performance to happen."
Oh no.... Why did her face turn red just because of gratitude?
"And I like Classmate Gaocheng!"
"Eh?!"
The unexpected confession made me feel a little unsteady, which of course was impossible in the game.
But-she confessed to me? I was going to have a girlfriend? !
No, no, how could it be possible, this must be a dream, right?
Wait, this was in the game, it was not wrong to say it was a dream...
And this was the moment before the end. I heard that after accepting the confession, the game would end within a few hours, which would not give players the time to have dates or other sorts of activities.
Moreover, the most important thing was that I had to complete the hidden ending, so I absolutely could not accept the confession here...
"...Although Classmate Shuiyuan is a very good girl, I..."
No, I couldn’t bring myself to say it.
It was too cruel to reject a girl.
"...I see, Classmate Gaocheng."
She actually calmed down before me.
"It’s my fault. I confessed before even asking if Classmate Gaocheng has a girlfriend... Does Classmate Gaocheng already have a girlfriend?"
Although she tried to be as calm as possible, her tone had betrayed her nervousness.
"I……"
How should I answer? I had never experienced this before.
"...Since Classmate Gaocheng is so hesitant, it means that Classmate Gaocheng has a girlfriend, right?"
"… I…I already have a person I like."
"Who is the one you like?"
Don't ask this question seriously, okay? It sounds like you are going to be mad in the next second if I said someone else.
"Yes... a girl from my class."
I immediately thought of Ying.
"A, a girl from your class?"
I nodded… Was it that surprising to like classmates?
"Why? I finally like a person but I can't be together with him... Obviously I made lunch for you the first..."
"Sorry, but I think you will meet someone better..."
I said this classic rejection line. It actually made my heart hurt a little...
"...I want to rest alone for a while."
She turned her head and indirectly asked me to leave.
I just remembered that she hadn't had a good rest for two days. If it were a real person, she might have fallen asleep lying on the ground.
"Then, goodbye."
I stood up and left the room.
………..
“Classmate Gaocheng!”
When I left the venue, Ying still hadn't left, and she was waiting at the door... Was she waiting for me?
"Classmate Yuchuan?"
"I'm waiting for you. Your face is a little pale, what happened?"
She approached me and looked at me with concern.
"It's nothing……"
I was a little touched. She was actually waiting for me.
"By the way, Classmate Yuchuan... Is being rejected a cruel thing for a girl?"
I needed to find this out before this story line ended.
"...It is indeed cruel, but everyone's experience is different. She may not forget it in ten years, or she may have a new life in a month."
"Oh..."
Anyway, I didn’t have any kind of relationship experience in reality, I didn’t understand.
【Side Story Ended】
After taking off the helmet, I let out a sigh of relief.
The emotional touch that this game gave me was a bit too real, and it was not good if I accidentally got too involved in it, like those who suffer from 'virtual dependence syndrome'...
After playing for too long, I should go for a walk. Maybe buying something for dinner alone the way.
It was dusk outside, and the temperature was no longer so unbearable compared to the daytime. I walked to the cold noodle stall at the entrance of the school, and there were already three people in line there.
"——This is your Grilled cold noodles, thank you."
The Grilled cold noodles that the couple in front of me bought were just put in the box. Freshly grilled cold noodles, I really wanted to buy it...
"I don't want to eat this low quality food."
The woman in the couple suddenly yelled violently.
What happened?
