Lots of leaked casting news and rumors for upcoming STAR WARS projects have been flying around lately with names like Ryan Gosling, Chris Pine and Sigourney Weaver being connected to future films. True or not, we break them all down. Fans are still buzzing about SKELETON CREW and so are we with interview highlights from Jaleel White and an actress who revealed via social media that all of her scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. Plus, clips from a recently rediscovered vintage STAR WARS interview from 1977 featuring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford provide a cool and fun flashback to the earliest days of STAR WARS.

My gosh, great discussion guys. What do we want for a 50th? Original Star Wars with cleaned up film shown in IMAX, US based Celebration and an RFR event at the Celebration. I loved Swank’s idea on animated series with the original actors. Death Star playset!!!! Yes please make this again. Jim, great points in Retro. I would love to the gaps from the first time around. The Star Trek Revival Club interviewing Mark, Harrison and Carrie was great. Swank’s laughing was contagious. I can’t believe how engaged Harrison was with the detailed questions.

Agreed. We loved that movie and thought it played well with the D and D license. I just died laughing when we found out he was a Baard. lol

Yes please!!!!

Love whenever you pull old interviews from the OG crew back in the day.

Great list Suds!

My 50th anniversary wish list: 1. US based Star Wars Celebration 2. RFR live event at above referenced Star Wars Celebration 3. See the movie in theaters with as many of my Star Wars brethren as possible

“Are we still on for pickleball this weekend?” 😂
Todd “Suds” Sedlacek
I hope that the Natalie rumor is true for no other reason than that would mean more phone calls from her on the show. Hands down my favorite “bit”!

I had no idea that existed. Sounds amazing, I will need to check it out!
Turtle Wars
If you can find one, I think the Falcon Extraordinaire released in 1999 was supposed to be a true 3.75 inch scale. It was a Toys R Us display and is about 6 ft long. It doesn’t have the opening compartment or playability, but is still very cool. I regret passing up my chance to own one about 10 years ago. I rarely see one for sale in excellent condition these days.

I thought Chris Pine was also excellent in the Dungeons & Dragons movie. Would love to see him in Star Wars. A serious actor who doesn’t take it too seriously…kind of gives Harrison Ford vibes.
Scott St. Louis
For the 50th, would love a Millennium Falcon 100% at 3.75 inch scale. Dual gun turrets, size full cockpit, cargo hold with all the accessories. Floor compartments. Includes all the figures from ANH too. For less than $500. Why not? I can dream can’t I?
Scott St. Louis
High ground— I don’t think we will see de-specialized while the Maker still has breath in him, but I would welcome that as well!
Curtis in Omaha
Yeah, I hope pickleball is still on.

I'm down with 4k release of unattended OT.
Peter Beisser
My 50th SW anniversary ask is 💯percent an official despecialized release of the OT in IMAX and then home video. I know why this ain't happening . But never tell me the odds. Maclunkey!!!

Crazy coincidence: The main character of Expeditionary Force, a comedic military sci-fi book/audiobook series, is named Colonel (Joe) Bishop (he gets promoted/demoted throughout the book series, a la Captain Kirk). https://www.goodreads.com/series/185650-expeditionary-force P.S. Jimmy, I saw a Barry Waterman from Illinois on Facebook--you may want to see if he's the one.

Another great listen as always! Finding those long lost interviews are awesome!
Turtle Wars
I definitely really like getting Retro Collection figures from the OT that we never got. The Mon Mothma was a little bit of BS to get. But the new ones in the pipeline are all cool. By the way, you can still get an original Kenner Walrusman in great shape for very cheap. But I also really like the new Star Wars characters in the Retro Collection. I just like the simple look and the basic 5 points of articulation. They can fit well into all kinds of displays.

Jimmy Mac taking THAT phone call during this week’s show is very possibly my all time favourite RFR moment! 😂
Kirk Leppert
No way! I started listening at 4:30 this morning, so I misinterpreted in my early morning haze! Hey Hey!!
Rebel Force Radio
I just feel dumb if it sounded like I thought he directed it. We all know GL only directed 6 films in his professional career.
Kirk Leppert
And I thank you for this Star Wars Investigative Report! RFR #1!!!
Rebel Force Radio
GL served as executive producer. I dug around and discovered he edited the screenplay and oversaw the film edit. Also, he actually was on set and even responsible for some camera work during the Vietnam sequences. So, sure he didn't direct it, but his fingerprints are on it for sure.
Kirk Leppert
A pox upon me! Cheers and love you guys.
Rebel Force Radio
He still had to produce it. Rinzler’s book indicated that it was a distraction for GL who didn’t want Lucasfilm to be on the hook for it.
Kirk Leppert
Great listen. In regards to More American Graffiti, I think you guys are mistaken about George’s involvement with the film. He did not direct or write the story. I think it was just a cash in after the success of Star Wars, with little involvement from George.
Mike James
Chut chut boyos! Another great listen! 👍🏻
Justin Miller
Looking forward to it. Like listening to it on my drive into work or drive home. Really starts or ends the day feeling upbeat and laughing with some friends.
