I'm so glad you shared this because I didn't see it at all myself, but now it makes total sense. And taken in conjunction with how much the opening scene of the show paid homage to the opening of A New Hope, I think it was very intentional. It makes me wonder if we missed a big nod to Empire in the middle of the serious.
