Kimmy crossed the room, pausing at the laundry hamper. She pulled the towel from her hair, the damp tendrils clinging to her neck and shoulders. She rubbed at her hair with the towel one more time, then tossed it into the hamper. She hefted the basket onto her hip and slipped out of the bedroom.

This time, Kimmy didn’t knock on Hyun’s door, just turned the knob and slipped inside, laundry hamper on her hip. She set it down by Hyun’s desk. Hyun didn’t stir, her form motionless under the blankets.
“I know you’re not sleeping.”
Hyun still made no response, and she stepped closer to the bed. Hyun didn’t react, didn’t even flinch; a silent, unmoving lump.
“Hyun,” she said, her voice above a whisper now. “I know you’re awake.” She sat on the bed beside Hyun. “It’s immature to ignore me.” She gave Hyun a moment to say something, but Hyun didn’t. “The door was ajar, Hyun. It was open more than how I left it.” No answer again, but this time she pitched forward, looming over Hyun’s body, speaking toward where Hyun’s hair spilled out over the pillow. “I hope you weren’t spying on us.” Kimmy sat upright again. She crossed a leg over the other and adjusted her satin robe at the thigh. She said, “Colleen’s his daughter.”
Finally, Hyun muttered, voice muffled by the blanket. “I know.”
Kimmy looked around the sparse room, at the desk where Hyun had done her homework tonight, caring for Colleen while Josh spent intimate time with her. She said, “That room’s not your room anymore.”

Almost exasperated, Hyun said, “I was the one who said that first.”
The room was silent for a long moment—longer if she weren’t pressed for time—the only sound the subterranean hum of the furnace. She leaned in, her mouth close to Hyun’s ear, hidden under the blanket. “What did you see?”
Hyun grunted and curled tighter under the bedding.
“Did you watch us?”
Hyun didn’t answer, stayed still and unflinching.
“Did you watch me with my husband?”
Hyun muttered a sound like no, and Kimmy said, “I think you watched us. So tell me: what did you see?” Hyun muttered how she’d seen nothing, and now Kimmy asked her, “Did you like what you saw?”
Hyun sighed under the blanket, then at last pulled it down a smidge, enough to see her cheekbone and her eye peering off at the window. It took a long beat, but Hyun said, “No.”
Kimmy sighed, rubbed her knee, returned her gaze to Hyun’s back. She whispered, “Did you touch yourself when you watched us together?”
When Hyun didn’t answer, this time Kimmy leaned over Hyun’s body, trying to catch Hyun’s eye. Hyun wouldn’t look at her, eyes moonlit and blank, looking at the window.
“Touch yourself now,” she said.
Hyun stiffened, her head angled closer before turning away again, putting her face into the pillow.
Kimmy said, “I want you to touch yourself. Roll on your front, get on your knees and your chin, and put a hand down your pajamas.”

A few thoughts: 1. I'm very curious to see where this goes. If Josh does push back on Kimmy and Hyun, I hope Kimmy stands her ground, maybe clearly asserting to him that her relationship with Hyun will remain and is non-negotiable. Hyun has always had Kimmy's back. She accepted that Kimmy slept with Devlin, she was the only one there for Kimmy during childbirth, and has been here for Kimmy since then. 2. Given how much Kimmy loves cuckolding Josh, and how she LOVED Devlin's big cock, I'd be shocked if Kimmy doesn't long to have another one (or two) in the flesh again. Not from Devlin, I imagine, but...Kimmy has an appetite. And as evidenced by her buying such a huge dildo, she clearly has a strong for something that Josh himself can never provide. 3. A beautiful and surprising twist would be if not Kimmy, but Josh, was the one to ask for boundaries to be pushed: If he asked Kimmy, clearly and directly, to cuckold him again, and to fully take the reins of their bedroom life. For one, it would, for the very first time in 15 books, be Josh giving a clear and direct request to Kimmy regarding his kink. Second, it would represent him fully (and publicly) acknowledging and accepting his kink and how desperately it drives him. 4. This last chapter, and the 3 possibilities I've listed above really leave me wishing for a sequel series. I want to see more of how Kimmy dominates Hyun. I want to see how Kimmy builds her unconventional household. I want to see how Hyun and Josh interact, especially in front of Kimmy: Does Kimmy command Hyun to help her pleasure Josh? Does Kimmy make/let Josh watch, catering to his kink? Or does Kimmy "command" Josh to serve or service Hyun? I think a thoughtful, sexy, slow-burn approach to unwrapping all of that and more could easily be fodder for six more books. 5. This last twist: If she retains her relationship with Hyun, I think it successfully defines Kimmy as one of the most unique female characters within the KT-verse. She's brave, strong, direct, beautiful, fiercely intelligent, strategic, controlling, manipulative, and unapologetic. She may indeed be a villain to many. But in literature and film, I personally think there are far too few good villains. Because wherever they are...those are tales that are memorable (Dr. Lecter in Silence of the Lambs; Darth Vader in Star Wars).

I'm OK with Kimmy wanting both Josh and Hyun. And, I'm OK with her being a little villainous and Josh loving her anyway, and accepting that. To me, both make sense, given who they are, and the choices both have made.

The other part of this chapter that kind of stuns me is the idea that Hyun was staying with Kimmy in the bedroom. That strikes me as incredibly reckless if they were doing that while Sophie was there. Even if she’s not old enough to understand the real meaning, one would think she’d find it odd that Mommy was staying in Aunt Kimmy’s room. And something she’d comment on, even casually, to her Dad and Uncle Josh. I’m going to assume they limited it to the times when Sophie was with Meyer and Josh.

Love the story and love the comments, all. KT has really wound us up to a high fever (and wound us around her pinky while typing this saga of betrayal, love, lust, and revenge, too). Kimmy Loves betrayal of those who depend on her in close temporal proximity - Caymans, birthday party, tonight, etc. We should not be so surprised since Hyun is still in the house. Kimmy's sexual needs seem to be as compartmented as her emotional ones. As always, she is parsimonious with information, need-to-know supersedes right-to-know for her, since only Kimmy determines who needs to know what and how much they need to know. All we have to do now is get her some training with martial arts and firearms and she can be the complete package - Maggie Q watch out. Hey, maybe that's it. The brokerage is a CSIS front and her rehabilitation and transformation into this ultra-compartmented dominatrix is part of her new role that purchased her freedom from the criminal charges.

I'm rather hating Kimmy right now. But. I think I see where you might be right that her ultimate goal is to bring them together so she can have them both under her thumb and torment them whenever she wants. I would have said Hyun would never go for such a thing. Yet she watched. And here she is, with not much motivation from Kimmy, jilling herself to Kimmy's narrative and the thought of Kimmy and Josh. And probably Kimmy tormenting Josh. It's a weird dynamic. So other than the "minor" (yeah right) inconvenience of somehow convincing Josh that it was okay for Kimmy to be shacking up with Hyun for the better part of a year while he languished on the outside, I could see Kimmy wrapping them both around her finger for bedroom games. Josh and Hyun? Probably not, but making Hyun watch her and Josh or making Josh watch her and Hyun... I could maybe see that. Especially if she did it in a way that humiliated Josh and dominated Hyun (because it's pretty obvious at this point Hyun likes being dominated)

Yeah, that was probably about as worse as I could envisioned the Kimmy/Hyun relationship, at least from a Josh mental health perspective. Kimmy seems in this chapter to be showing she wants to dominate both Hyun and Josh sexually, and more ominous than that, leave them both out of what she's doing with the other. I'm honestly a bit stunned she can totally compartmentalize like this. The Hyun relationship is totally separate in her mind from what she perceives as her betrayals of Josh. We'll see if her ultimate is to somehow get Josh to accept this, even have him be a part of it. Maybe this is where the "thrill" is going to be. She might be "excluding" Hyun but at the very least Hyun knows what's happening. I can't see how she can exclude Josh from knowing and participating, so I have to think that's part of her plan. Can he, or should he accept this? I really don't know. It's going to be interesting, because the end of this chapter still shows Kimmy at her most manipulative and confident she can convince anyone to give her whatever she wants.

This chapter. KT. OMG. The interaction between Kimmy and Hyun. Worse, Josh's feelings of naive safety. I love it. And yet, *this* is why I dislike this book and the path taken. In what universe is Darth Kimmy allowed to win like this? An unjust one. A horrible one. She compels all those around her and revels in it. She deserves a one way trip down a ventilation shaft.

I knew this would get you in the feels, Kat. It's everything we hate about Kimmy, all rolled into one chapter. I had wondered, even with the signs. Surely Kimmy couldn't be *this* awful? To watch Josh suffer while playing house with Hyun and having sex most nights? And yet, here we are. Worse is the implication of Hyun's statement "I was the one who said that first." It almost implies that there was a time where Kimmy was okay letting Josh sit on the outside, suffering. Perhaps punishment for dating blondy? (For the life of me can't remember her name, it's on the tip of my tongue) It implies they had a discussion and Hyun actually advocated for Josh. Which feels so weird given how she treated him earlier. Although, I get it, given the new context. This was Hyun's house. Kimmy was *her* wife for months in all but name. Kimmy said that was her room. Look at what she's had to give up. I can't feel but so sorry given she knowingly walked into this, cheating behind Josh's back. And poor Josh. He thinks he's safe. Ha! Not 5 minutes later, Kimmy's already cheating behind his back. She's fucking awful.

Omg, I shouldn’t be surprised. This story was never going to end without Hyun, but omg. I’ve got to reread everything, but it appears that Kimmy and Hyun were a couple all year, going on vacations and shared the master bedroom. Explains why Hyun’s room is so vacant. The vacation part dug it in for me. That would be so hurtful if Josh knew. Kimmy really gets off on being the dominant partner. She’s dominating Hyun in a similar way that she does with Josh. It’s the dominance that she loves, no matter who her partner is.
