When Carla went back to her heels, Cheyenne stayed stunned, eyes wide and rolling, her slack mouth staying open. She shook her head to return some sense to her and said, “Yeah, okay, we’ll do that. I mean, I’ll do it.”
Cody and Philippe looked at each other again, then Philippe said, “With who?”

Cody’s eyes narrowed further. “We’re playing your game.”
“Exactly,” Lily said.
There was something fun and cute about the way Lily was behaving. Sully had never looked at Lily through a lascivious lens, but he couldn’t stop himself now. I now realize with the return of Paloma this could be a modern Decameron... but happily it isn't. Boccaccio used the the lock up of ten young people, seven women and three men, as an excuse to tell stories for ladies, according to author. Summer Swap on the other hand is a story about ten young people spiced with mischief, humour, protean sensuality and lewdly ludic fun that gradually reveals saucy new truths to the friends at the same as they are revealed to the readers. The whole narrative up to now seems playful and teasing flavoured with a hint of jeopardy, and I catch the odd unthreatening whiff of angst... we will see what we shall see... but as the gang now seems made up of married couples the comedy in the classical sense is already built in, but more importantly in what she has offered it exceeds what the author promised.

I liked the broken parallel of the docking... between Phillippe and Cody it became a comedy of male dominance but between Lily and Chey it became a surprise erotic merging of two very different characters. The greatest irony being that the greater comic challenge to Cody as ringmaster is Lily. Arlo and Lily, or should it rather be Lily and Arlo, the serious couple who prove that appearances can be deceptive... and that as far as being ordinary goes the joke is on the other friends!

LOL! I literally thought exactly that when it happened. It flew off and I instantly thought, "she did that on purpose, what does she have pre-planned on that phone "app" that was conveniently already "downloaded"." Oh, that ending! Can't wait to see what Byron thinks of that, if Chey's paranoid worry is true. Unlikey, but possible, i think. I find it more than a little bit ironic that Chey, of all people, would lecture Byron on saying what he thought. I think it would have done her better if it had been Carla, in the realm of working out the jealousy issues she has while also helping her and Byron potentially have something more meaningful with Cody and Carla. But this is much more intriguing, seeing Lily open up and show her true self to everyone, when at least some of them see her as a totally different person. Where the games go from there could be quite spectacular. Plus, if Chey is saying she likes this more than she ever thought she would, perhaps she'll be interested in doing something similar in private with Carla for their two boys. Cant wait for the next chapter. Love what you're doing with this, KT!
