Devlin would definitely be cruel about it. But doesn't Josh want him to be cruel about it? I keep thinking of the time Josh showed Devlin he was wearing panties, even though there was no need. I feel like Josh wants Devlin to be cruel to him.

There were a few landmark moments here: "You know what I'm asking you, Kimmy. Tell me the truth. Do you like it? Do you like how big he is?" Her eyes met his again, and he knew what her answer was in the heartbeat before she said it. "I do. I like it." His voice rose high, as if in disbelief, even though he'd wanted this answer. "You do?" "I can't help it. Just like you can't help this"-she squeezed his dick, indicating how hard he was-"I can't help what happens to me." "What happens to you?" "I get aroused, Josh. The same way you do “. And. “ "He wants me, Josh. He wants me really bad." "Oh, fuck, yes, you're so hot, so amazing." Kimmy watched her hand again, down low between them, his cock pointing up to their faces. "This makes you so hard." KT Club $10 per month "So hard, Kimmy. ... I hate it." "Don't, Josh. Don't say that. You love it, and that's fine. . .. I don't want you to want it, Josh, but I can't make you stop." And. “But she's here in bed telling you about her devotion. Telling you that you're the one that matters. And, hey, how about this: If you accept Kimmy's love and if you accept her transgression, Devlin has no power. It brings you closer together with Kimmy. When you're mad and you're in Rome and you don't want to see her, you're giving Devlin all the strength. All the power. You're giving him a victory. But if he saw you getting this dirty-talk hand job in bed with Devlin's sexy Kimmy Chang, he'd shit a brick. Josh Waters is the winner here, isn't he?” The best part of this is Josh stating “ If you accept Kimmy's love and if you accept her transgression, Devlin has no power. It brings you closer together with Kimmy.” Josh builds his own traps. Amazing.

I can’t figure Kimmy out. She is horrible and has done terrible things to her husband, and even worse things behind his back. But, there is love there, some kind co-dependent, warped love. She tells Josh that she’s just playing a role, one that she’s good at, but when she comes home she’s his Kimmy. Is she just playing a role? Which role is the real act? The one with Devlin or the one at home with Josh? It’s so infuriating watching Josh still believe that all this started because of his dark desires. Kimmy says to him, “Do you understand what it’s like for me?,” like fooling around with Devlin is some necessary evil, big sacrifice she’s doing for the both of them. Yeah, right, sure Kimmy. I would love it if they could somehow work together to get what they both want, while doing something horrible to Devlin. Josh may think he wants to see Kimmy with Devlin, and Kimmy may want him to watch, but if that ever happens it will destroy them. I don’t see Josh enjoying a situation like that. Plus, Devlin will definitely be cruel about it. Every time Josh gives into his darkness he regrets it and gets angry with himself, and sometimes Kimmy. I can’t wait for the next chapter!

Yes. This all hinges on how Kimmy manages the big lie. Josh has no idea the deception and depth of Kimmy's desire for Devlin. And I doubt KT will go down the familiar husband getting off on wife's having sex with another guy, theme. I devour each new chapter hoping we get a glimpse of where KT will lead this complicated triad.

I find myself a bit twisted up here. This is, for the most part, how i had envisioned things going as a "best case" scenario for the two of them. Where Kimmy FINALLY opens up, stops being a serial liar and gives Josh the actual truth about her dark attraction, one she knows she shouldn't have, that mirrors Josh's own. The only real way for this to be "okay" for Josh is for the two of them to have a mutual understanding of each other's desires and for him to realize her darkness mirrors his own, so it's okay to want these awful things because she does too (even if she clearly benefits from it much more than he does). That it's okay to be dark as long as they are both honest with each other about what that means for them and their marriage. Honest about what happens when the other isn't around and how they feel about it. It allows them to be a true partnership, the way it should have been from the beginning. A combined effort where they tackle "The Asshole" together. They control the narrative and get what they want out of it, instead of letting Devlin drive the show as he has for the past 10 books. And yet... It all hinges on a huge lie that Kimmy continues to perpetuate. A lie that's been there since basically book 1. Josh accepts this "new normal" based on a misbelief that this is all his fault and things started at Cayman. Something he states in this chapter. Every single chapter from Josh's POV always, ALWAYS has multiple incidents of him drawing this back to being all his fault, of this starting with his game and Cayman. We know that's a lie, it's a huge crater in their pathway, one that Kimmy keeps trying to fill with the here and now, wanting to avoid the past like a plague. I have my own thoughts on the reality of how likely it is for Kimmy to succeed in this endeavor. It will be interesting to see how the story plays out. Especially since all of Josh's and Kimmy's thoughts and actions are in the vacuum of their bedroom, without any sort of interaction with Devlin or Amy, either of who could tilt this thing sideways with an Inception style twist.

Still a lot of issues to resolve.

You've taken Gaslight and reversed everything, brilliant! For Kimmy and Josh, she has now made crazy into normal, kink into love, and betrayal into fidelity. I want her representing me if I ever need counsel.
