may 2025 update: life updates, the next video & bonus stuff

monthly update time! let's get down to business:
first, i decided that i won't be moving out right now. i found a place but it was just too expensive and the conditions were poor. as you can probably imagine, this means that i have to find some other way of fixing my awful living situation. well, me and my family decided to bite the bullet and do SOME of the necessary repairs. these won't cover everything but they'll take care of the biggest issues. as of right now, we're waiting to get a quote on how much it will all cost. it's likely that this will be REALLY expensive. me and my friends were looking at the possibility of running a fundraiser. i was also contacted by some social workers who are willing to provide a bit of funding through their official channels. we'll see. right now i've been having some health complications due to the cold (it's winter here). it's been awful and super demoralizing lol.
second, i'm working on a new video. like i said in the last update, this one's gonna be shorter and simpler than the j-horror one. the current working title is "your grandpa's favorite mecha anime" and it's gonna be like a personal retrospective on a bunch of old mecha shows. the structure will be pretty loose, like with most of my videos, and it will cover a lot of niche ground that i'm particularly interested in. no clue when it'll be out but i'm working on it. so, if you've ever wondered "what does maria think about Zeta Gundam?" or "what the hell is chogokin Z?" then please look forward to it. surprisingly enough, there's quite a bit of overlap between this and the Ultraman project... which is great for me!
third, i've been toying around with ideas for projects outside of the channel. i like the idea of providing something that's a tad more consistent than the videos themselves. right now i'm thinking of creating a podcast. i've had ideas for a long time but i've been hesitant to commit to them because... well... podcasts are a grossly over-saturated space and i feel like an annoying clown on top of other annoying clowns lol. that being said, there's a real chance i might do it soon. the show itself will likely focus on movies and other things i'm interested in but can't turn into videos. there will probably be a lot of inside baseball youtube stuff and some of my personal philosophizing. i yap a lot and i've been told i can be quite nuanced so... yeah! i promise it won't be complete garbage. π€ (that's IF it ends up materializing lol)
[ i also wanna start streaming more but, i'll be real, it's very anxiety inducing for me lol. i don't just wanna pump out random garbage content. i'm too exhausted and uncomfortable to be on 24/7 if that makes any sense. ]
THANK YOU for your continued support. it's very scary to open up about my conditions, but the kindness people have shown me is incredibly encouraging. i'm actually shocked i'm still out here making stuff, considering how awful the last 4 years of my life have been. but it's probably best not to think too hard about it. regardless, i do not take any of this for granted and i am humbled by all of you. seriously. i'll make sure to let everyone know as soon as things improve on my end (hopefully soon... fingers crossed). take care!
