I wonder if they knew what caused the Black Ocean and just did hunt Ismael down because of the usefulness.

Oh boy, now that I give it more thought, this diamond-rank war is really bad for the “Free Dungeons”, right? I can’t see the Big 4 allowing those “Free Dungeons” to remain “free”; I would think the “Free Dungeons” would probably be targeted early in a diamond-rank war. Ace will obviously turtle-up in ETG, but how will the other contractors react? If they aren’t prepared like Ace, joining one of the Big 4 factions seems like the most viable option to not be destroyed especially since most if not all of them are likely crippled in power. This is likely to make Eternal stand out more. To complicate things further, I assume the pixies can sabotage dungeons with their racial abilities (ETG had to specifically counter the pixie abilities with skills and rules if I remember correctly), so the non-pixie factions will be thinking about a preemptive strike on the dungeons near their territories (for safety, obviously). So messy. Very exciting, love it (well, not the dungeon deaths that are likely to occur; I hope there are rules of war).

Thanks for the chapter! “What if my friend tries to fight back? With so few diamond ranks, I am not certain of our success.” Perfect response, Ace; good work with the facade for your minder. I’m happy Ace has addressed his skills problem. I wonder if Ace could use the pretext of a diamond-rank war to move his population into the Dungeon (for safety, of course), then he could destroy all the town/city structures on the surface and close most of the surface entrances to make sure no one else could use those facilities (again, for safety). It’s not the best justification and probably won’t hold up to scrutiny by the higher ups but could probably work for the masses. Ace has always done his best for the masses. I also wonder how a diamond-rank war would affect the flow of goods. Are the other governments and organizations seeing the same economic death flags from the Dragon disappearance? How will ETG and his allies not become the target of all? Even without a surface city, as long as the mountain airship docks are still in place, rations can still be exported, and supply would be at less risk of collapse with the Dungeon production. Depending on how the Eternal inhabitants play the situation, they could come out on top. Definitely not easy but there could be a way.

Kinda brilliant to have the dragons disappearance cause issues with potion supplies. If this is a war took a good opening hit and a distraction.

Tftc!
