It's another talent, and with the previous rewards, Ronnel had just gathered five intermediate speed talents, which could now be synthesized into a high-level one.
With high-level strength, high-level speed, and high-level martial arts talent, and with some focused training, Ronnel would have no shortcomings.
"The Southern Subai school's ancestral treasured saber cannot be owned by anyone who isn't the recognized master of the school."
Huh?
As the third beam fired, Ronnel halted.
It seemed he had found something incredible.
Ronnel blinked, then flipped his palm. An ancient copper saber appeared in his hand. The blade was an ancient yellow, densely covered with intricate patterns. Gazing closely, Ronnel noticed that a significant amount of Nen was attached to it.
It was the copper saber that Hankloda had used in the previous competition!
This ancestral saber must have been passed down for generations, retaining the Nen of ancestors. Without their approval or without dispelling the Nen, the sword couldn't be wielded at all.
Only the disciples of school who had been recognized by the saber's Nen could become the master of the saber, using the Nen to greatly enhance their power.
It looked like a useless item to most.
However, Ronnel's space backpack had a unique advantage: anything stored in it would be bound to him.
This ancient copper saber, now bound to Ronnel, meant he had become its rightful owner. The Nen attached to the saber would now aid him, just like it did for the former masters of the Subai school. He could command the Nen at will!
What a huge gain!
Ronnel hadn't expected to stumble upon such a treasure, especially when he was in need of a proper weapon. It was like the saber was sent right into his hands.
That Hankloda sure was a generous opponent!
While Ronnel happily examined the saber, elsewhere, Mr. Thatcher from the victorious Northern faction slowly regained consciousness.
Upon waking, his first concern was his sword, which thankfully lay by his side. He breathed a sigh of relief.
The Subai school had two ancestral weapons. Both weapons contained Nen that could boost the wielder's power, making them critical to the school's strength. They could not fall into enemy hands.
Since the sword was with him and the battle was won, the saber in Hankloda's possession should also be retrieved.
The agreement before the battle had been clear: the victor would take control of both weapons.
"Has the Southern faction delivered the saber yet?" Thatcher asked one of his disciples.
"I sent someone to collect it. I assume it should..."
Before he could finish, another disciple rushed in, his face furious.
"Master Thatcher, I went to the Southern School to ask for the saber, but they claimed it had suddenly gone missing! They said they couldn't find it!"
The disciple tried to control his anger as he spoke.
Lost the saber? Couldn't find it? What a joke!
Hearing this, the Northern School disciples were enraged.
Missing? The very saber their leader had used to fight just moments ago?
It was clear to everyone that the Southern faction was refusing to admit defeat and didn't want to hand over the saber.
Their rogue tactics were no better than the thugs on the streets of Meteor City!
They were bringing shame upon the name of the "Subai school!"
The disciples of the Northern faction were now even more convinced that the Southern faction didn't deserve the Subai title.
"Master, what should we do?" one disciple asked coldly.
Thatcher's expression darkened. He had anticipated that the Southern faction wouldn't give up the saber so easily. Without hesitation, he began issuing orders for action against the Southern faction.
As for the disgraced Southern faction...
They had planned all along to avoid surrendering the saber. However, when they went to hide it, they were stunned to discover something shocking...
The saber was truly gone!
Ronnel returned to his room, staring at the saber with growing affection. Not only did it have the perfect weight, but the grip also felt excellent in his hands. Wielding it felt natural.
The blade was incredibly sharp, slicing the air with a faint cracking sound.
No doubt, this was a treasured weapon passed down through generations, and Ronnel couldn't be more satisfied.
Of course, this saber had been a family heirloom, and the Southern faction was probably going mad trying to find it by now.
Plus, the saber's design was unique, its features obvious. If he casually carried it around, it would easily be recognized.
After a moment of thought, Ronnel pulled out a unique item from the Hunter world: Elastic paper.
Elastic paper, completely white and highly elastic, was similar to A4 paper but far superior in toughness and quality. It was also incredibly expensive.
Ronnel carefully traced the saber's outline on two sheets of Elastic paper, cutting them out and attaching them to both sides of the blade. This perfectly covered the saber's distinct patterns.
He even wrapped the handle in Elastic paper.
Now, even the Subai's disciples might not recognize the saber.
Once satisfied, Ronnel practiced with the saber a few more times before putting it away contentedly, just as Shizuku returned that evening.
