We remember LOTR having some long segments talking about grass... Lots and lots of grass... He was definitely a super fan of those grasslands. :)

I didn't read it. I found his writing rather thick and opaque ^-^; The movies really gave an opportunity for my spouse to introduce it to me in little pieces.

This was one of our favorite books to read when growing up! Which really made the film version that much more exciting to watch!
