I think my favorite part of this episode is that even if you did everything you could, if you put 100% into each part of the preparation, you can still lose and feel like "maybe there was something else I could've done" even when realistically there is just nothing in your power to change that outcome.

Agreed. The power of youth! The springtime of youth!
This episode gets me crying every single time. To be young and pure. To love something wholeheartedly with such passion. The bound, the regret and the respect between members and teams. Away from the reality they will eventually face in adult hood. Something so precious happening once in a life time, only during this age and in competitive sports. The youth is so overwhelmingly beautiful in this episode.
